Overpriced and little vegan options

Food was okay but overpriced compared to other restaurants in the area. Waiter was very clear he wanted a tip despite the service being poor.

Cons: Insisted for tip despite poor service , No credit card, Poor value

Pretty good!

I got the grilled vegetables, which were tastey. The foul was interesting, as I had never had this before. We got there later in the evening, around 8 pm, and many of their dishes were sold out by then. I would have liked to try their falafel.

Pros: Atmosphere, Attentive staff

Cons: Limited options

Ok option in Cairo

Some vegan option, like stuffed vegetables

Cons: Expensive in Egypt

Do yourself a favor and skip it

I’ll cut to the chase here: while leaving after our meal we saw rats (or some other vermin) inside the restaurant by the kitchen. Additionally, there is a fish tank inside the restaurant which clearly is not being well maintained and is not nearly large enough for the fish in it. Across from that is another tank, also dirty and not comfortable inside, with two turtles in it. Not really compatible with people who care about animals.

As for the food, the foul was flavorless and overly oily. The salad was fine, and the tamiya/falafel were pretty decent. Flatbread was decent as well. The waiter was pleasant enough.

There’s a hidden six pound cover fee that doesn’t show up until the check does, and we were not informed that they were not accepting credit cards until it was time to pay. Prices are quite high compared to street food, and you’re not gaining anything as far as taste or cleanliness go.

Just go elsewhere.

some good options

I went once, had tahini, grilled veggies, besara, tamiya

besara was nice, so were the grilled veggies.

Pros: nice place, friendly service

Cons: expensive, you find much cheaper on the street

Amazing!

Vegans can have most of the appetizers but they are enough to make a meal. The service is great and the atmosphere is one of a kind. Definitely give it a try!
