Nice staff! Not that long wait for the food & cute place alongside the water.

On vacation I rate differently then I would at home. This is because of how many vegan places are around, the quality and how many options there are in the restaurant.

Mediocre fair food - Edit
We were looking for somewhere to stop while walking along the waterfront and we got the nachos and a Crunchwrap. The loaded nachos were not even close to loaded with more chips than toppings and the Crunchwrap was all chorizo patties.

Nice to have options - Edit
It’s nice to have options on the Riverwalk and to be able to try an iconic “Chicago dog” veganized. The hot dog itself was pretty good, but the bun had gotten soggy somewhere along the way, so that was disappointing.

Pricey but delicious - Edit
A great walk-up food stand right on the Chicago Riverwalk. Menu is fairly small but has really great items. We especially liked the Oreo Cheesecake. The menu items were somewhat expensive but everything was fantastic.

Little gem - Edit
The owner developed a dairy allergy and thus made all the food vegan. It’s a small menu in a small venue, but there is enough to choose from and enjoy. We had the crunch wrap, nachos, and cherry baklava. Everything was good. The crunch wrap was too spicy for me but my husband enjoyed it. The baklava was my favorite!

Great stop - Edit
Within the span of a few days I’ve tried the Crunchwrap, nachos, and Oreo cheesecake. All were delicious, but the nachos were very stingy on toppings. I got 5 or 6 chips’ worth of the chili cheez, and then I was left with a dry stack of tortilla chips. I’d eat it again if I knew they’d be more generous, because those 5-6 chips were very tasty.

I was on the riverwalk for a concert while visiting from out of town and had not looked at food options in advance. Silly move but thankfully Feed Your Head had me covered! Their crunchwrap was phenomenal! Great size, amazing taste, and well priced.

chicago dogs - Edit
it was a nice surprise to find this vegan place along the riverwalk ! i liked the setup and there were a few tables closer to the water where you can eat your food. i was starving, and i imagined a chicago dog would hit the spot. the food came out in a fair amount of time given the others waiting for their food as well.
Read morewhile i only ordered a few chicago dogs while i was there, i was impressed by the quality. i feel like this is definitely one of the better vegan chicago dogs i've had (although i haven't had too many so it's not a huge comparison list) and i was very impressed with the hefty amount of toppings and the quality of those toppings! the dog itself was delicious, and while not identical to a nonvegan hotdog in texture, i still thought the flavor was pretty accurate and the toppings took it to the next level. they weren't missing anything!
i would definitely come back to try some more food, and the location makes the experience even better.
Pros: good/friendly service , location!! , delicious food

Nice to see an 100% vegan option in a touristy spot - Edit
Items are a little on the pricey side, but that’s what you’d expect given the location on the river walk. My friend liked her sun dried tomato dip, my Chicago dog was solid, though unfortunately fatso’s veggie dog is still cheaper and tastier.

Feed your head and belly - Edit
We ran into this place after a sightseeing boat tour and decided to give it a try. I ordered the pizza crunch wrap and found it satisfying — like a crunchy flattened Hot Pocket. My partner ordered the gyro and found it good, though the portion was a bit smaller, so he ended up eating half of my pizza crunch wrap !

Feed Your Head Fed My Belly!😋 - Edit
Finding myself back in Chicago this afternoon for just a few hours before I make my connecting train back to New York, I decided to take a stroll over by the Riverwalk. Almost hidden away in the midst of party boats, kiosks filles with revelers and tourists, I found Feed Your Head (thank goodness!) Jen (who actually left NYC and ended up feeding the Vegans of Chicago with these amazing curated Vegan meats and cheeses, suggested I pack a gyro to go, stating that none of the other offerings would hold up quite so well on the train. I concurred, and so she wrapped that up nicely, with all of the sauces and sides that go with it (so I'll have to post that photo later.) However, I decided I couldn't leave Chicago without chowing down the "606" Chicago Dog while seated riverside (the perfect weather certainly provided such incentive.) All I can say is, that Chicago Dog was insanely good. I'm sure the gyro will be too - I'll be sure and update this review! 😉
Read moreUPDATE: Just had the gyro, and it was also very good. It traveled well, and considering I didn't actually eat it until almost 24 hours later, I think Jen made a good recommendation. That said, I do admit to having preferred the Chicago Dog yesterday - I can't help but wonder if it would have held up just as well.

Pros: Customer Service, Chicago Dog - Awesome!, Gyro - Very good; traveled well.

I took Amtrak to NY 2 months ago. The vegan food was ok but the train. You might want to check out Native Foods on Clark Street between Adams & Jackson. I recommend bringing food on the train ride back to NY.

OMG....this is INSANE that you commented this, as I'm CURRENTLY walking directly over to Native Foods SPECIFICALLY to get food to bring on the train! I literally just stopped to take a photo and saw your comment here (sooooo "funny" huh?) Anyway, yeah, I LOVE traveling by train and will most likely be doing so again in a month or two, but as far as food on Amtrak, it SUCKS (I'm thinking of starting a campaign - they really need to step into the 21st century!)

I also really enjoy traveling by train. I watched a YouTube video on traveling through Canada for 4 days. The vegan food looked pretty good. I always get a bedroom with the shower when I travel by train.
