A must visit!

So glad they have vegan flavors and cones! Rotating vegan flavors and sorbets. No tastes when I was there last time so I got a Munro chocolate chip! Vegan cones apparently too?!

Pros: Local , Fresh, Small batch

Cons: Cash only, No tastes

The cones are vegan!

Friends! You know those wonderfully delightful and delicious waffle cones they make at the Scoop? Well, they're vegan!!! Dreams do come true. I spent the last 7 years since going vegan not patronizing my favorite ice cream shop as much as I could have! I used to swing by after particularly vigorous hikes with my dog (who yes, did get a kid's scoop), and now I can continue that tradition. Their peach sorbet and vegan cookies and cream knocked my socks off this weekend.

Love SCOOP!

Friends as far away as Colorado come to our little village of Fairfax eager to make a visit to Scoop. My best friend (who is also a vegan and who also lives in town) and I have a regular standing date to meet at Scoop for an ice cream before wandering off into the hills. Scoop has an ethos (mind, I'd prefer that this ethos included kindness to cows, but that's for another discussion) of organic and natural; you will never find gummy bears as a topping on Scoop ice cream.
There are always two vegan flavors on tap, usually a coconut-creamy one and a sorbet, and you can get a small scoop with both flavors. Small is really all you need for a single serving, and you can enjoy both flavors for the price/size.
I bring my own freezer pint container down to Scoop, and they gladly fill it up (at least that was the case before Covid; that's probably a pleasure I had that I will no longer have now). Point is, the people are really cool, and it's easy to get caught up chatting with the interesting folks who work there.
It's a tiny tiny shop, and even in cold rainy weather it's not unusual to see a line out the door and halfway round the block.

Pros: Vegan ice cream, Super nice people, Free tastes

Cons: Dairy ice cream

Good ice cream

Good ice cream with flavors that are changed for seasonal ingredients, and there is always a vegan ice cream option as well, of course, as sorbet. The line can get very long on a good ice cream day, though!
