Good selection of obento - Edit
They are a section over from the supermarket and the is a food court nearby where you can sit down and eat it. Ground floor. Same as the one in Fukuoka station.

Îlot vegan! - Edit

I love this food! - Edit
Whenever I'm in Fukuoka, I go to this cafe, so finding it in Nagasaki is wonderful! Sure, it's not the healthiest food, but who cares. Having a full vegan cafe in any city should be celebrated.

The only fully vegan option in the city - Edit
It's vegan, it's convenient, and it tastes good. Some options are healthier than others, but if you take the time to comb through everything you will find ones with less rice and no fried food. With that said the selection is smaller than other Evah train station locations, but you can't go wrong. They also have a microwave and will heat your meal upon request.
Read moreIt's a bit tricky to find though. Go inside the food/restaurant floor of the Amu Plaza beside Nagasaki Station (street level). The location in Google Maps isn't perfect. It is in the centre of the food court, and across from Lupicia tea, and next to Green Gourmet.

vegan but not a balanced and healthy meal - Edit
I was delighted to find this little food counter selling vegan food in the mall. I purchased the biggest obento with 9 items. Unfortunately, while the bento is pretty and I am glad I tried it once, the food consisted of mostly rice (3 items) and fried or deep fried croquette and other unhealthy food, also a macaroni salad. No fresh vegetables at all. It was not nutritionally balanced or even nutritious, mainly starches. It's not easy to find vegetarian, let alone vegan, food in Japan, so I was thankful for this place, but it's good in a pinch only.
Read morePros: everything is vegan., reasonable price
Cons: no fresh vegetable, too much rice and other starches, not healthy
Kolendo
This chain shop typically has a number of different bento to choose from. Some are healthier than others. It's not fair to rate it so low when they do actually carry options that are healthy.

Vegan bento near station - Edit
What a delightful surprise to find a clearly labeled vegan bento stall near the Nagasaki station. Staff were very helpful. I bought a small bento box for the train ride - tasty and convenient. FYI take out only.
