Fancy restaurant with lot of vegan options - Edit
This was probably our first more fancy (but not over the top) veg. restaurant we visited. It was truly amazing. The taste was superb. They really put a lot of effort in the dishes. Prices were fair, especially considering Prague isn't the cheapest place anymore.

Very fancy but.. - Edit
I was looking forward to visit this place in January 2018 but it was a bit of disappointment. All food looked really nice and you can see that chefs are playing with presentation very patiently but to be honest food looks better than taste. We all 6 of us were sharing as we wanted to try different types of food and I have to say that taste of most of the dishes wasn’t exiting. Don’t take me wrong it wasn’t so bad but nothing special.
Read moreAlso as it is not the cheapest place we wanted to have really good wine but waitress hasn’t been able to tell us and called for help of the college with apology that he is there just a few months.

Left sad and disappointed - Edit
For 11$ I’ve got fried sushi rolls which consisted 70% of rice with a 30% vegetable filling (semi-raw carrot and avocado). So when you bite into it you end up with a mouthful of rice with tempura and a slight feeling of disappointment. To make this dish seem worth the money they made blobs of siracha, mayo and wasabi. As you can guess that didn’t help. For a lovely price of 15$ my husband got a big portion of rice noodles with soy sauce and 3(!) pieces of walnut sized tempeh . There wasn’t even any interesting combination of vegetables, just noodles , about 4 slices of pak choi and garnish of some peanuts and a little bit of greens. Excuse me, 15$ for a blob of rice noodles that tasted like pure sadness! Giving 3 stars because fried spring rolls were actually good. Drinks are ok and not really overpriced. Can’t recommend this restaurant at all because the main courses weren’t worth eating for me.

interesting appetizers - Edit
We ordered almost everything on the menu except the burger between the two of us. The appetizers were all great and interesting. However, the noodles with tempeh could have been great if they weren't too salty, because the tempeh was amazing. As for the sushi, I ate a lot of vegan sushi in many different places and this was among the worst. It's okay, but too dry, too little veggies inside and the rice was not like the sushi rice I am used to - too bad. Also, the dessert was way too sweet, but I guess some people love that. All in all, too pricy and I've eaten better main meals for way less money, so I was not that impressed.

Fancy and delicious - Edit
Stylish, classy interior of the restaurant and a cosy, quiet and colorful backgarden that feels way more casual. Staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive.
Read moreWe ordered almost everything vegan on the menu (except the burger) to share in a group of six and each one of the dishes tasted delicious, plus they were a real feast for the eyes, being served beautifully decorated on black stone plates. Especially the desserts were fot for a king.
It's true, this restaurant is definitely a bit high-priced, prone to being over-priced, but if you are looking for a rather fancy, chic place to dine, Etnosvet is a wonderful choice!
Pros: many vegan options, friendly staff, backgarden
Cons: expensive

Great food, not enough - Edit
First of all - the food was very good. Some nice ideas (fried sushi sounds weird, but it was good!). But this is supposed to be the best vegan / vegetarian restaurant in Prague. It is expensive and I have to admit little overpriced. The biggest problem I had, the restaurant doesn't have clear mission. Is it fancy place for dates and anniversaries? Alternative etno restaurant? Veg promoting cafeteria? Hard to say! I wanted to go to fancy place, so I expected the best, price is not an issue. Hence my review. When you order starter, which clearly request fork and knife, I want my fork and knife (am I supposed to eat salad with a knife?). Best invention in history - plate. No weird black basalt boards or what please! Drink without coaster creates mess. Menu is not supposed to look like a salad you forgot in the fridge for two weeks. Cheapest bambus chopsticks in paper like in the worst Asian takeaway? Why? It looked terrible. Banana sign for men toilet, strawberry for woman. Seriously!? Service was better standard for Prague. After all, it was a good experience (mushroom pate is a must), but you would and should expect more. If the price is 2/3, I would give 5 stars.

A Great Place - Edit
I saw the reviews and decided to give this place a try when traveling with non-vegans, it was amazing. It is a bit pricier, but I left satisfied(and maybe came back the next day to eat). Every dish was beautiful and the flavors worked well together. The staff was very kind and spoke English which was helpful. Sometimes it can be a bit of a wait for food, but that didn't bother me. Try to sit out on the patio if you can! It's beautiful and comfortable.

Tasty food, good service - Edit
This is the place to go if you want a nice sit down evening meal- the service was brilliant, all the staff made sure you were looked after. The menu was a bit of a jumble going from sushi to burgers to ravioli but over all the food was fresh and on the whole was well cooked and tasty! Would go back just for the mousse for dessert. Also, cheap beer :)

Hmm. - Edit
As I was researching things to do (read: vegan things to eat) in Prague, I frequently came across this place, but it never made it to my shortlist and I had never intended to visit. Why? Well, it seemed a wee bit too uppity for my tastes, as I generally prefer the often-more-fun mid-tier establishments. However, due to this being my first time in the city and it being rather late, I capitulated and went to the nearest place to my hostel instead of sticking to my plan.
Read moreSo, did it meet my expectations? Yes - almost entirely. The staff were friendly, the ambiance was perfect for a late-night meal and the meal itself was...passable. Herein lies the issue I have with the higher-end establishments: they rely too much on reputation and oftentimes not enough on the food itself. After persusing what few vegan options were on the menu, I settled on the Pad Thai, which, while Pad Thai-y and all, was also fairly small and the rice noodles quickly congealed into one very sticky ball. As you might imagine, this doesn't make for such an elegant dining experience.
Further, the price for 'all this' (i.e. just the pad thai - nothing else except a bread roll) was shockingly high for the Prague standards I've become accustomed to over my first day here, and again, for not much more than I probably would've received at a Thai kiosk in a Metro station - abiance notwithstanding.
I'm glad I didn't starve last night, but I certainly feel like a sucker for having paid double the price for a meal that probably only filled me up half as much as what I enjoyed at lunch today. If you're going for a romantic date night (or at the very least choose another menu item - perhaps the others are a better value), perhaps this is the right place, but personally I sort of regret not just heading into the nearest Žabka for some porridge, a protein bar and tea for a a few dozen CZK.
TL;DR: Unless you're feeling romantic or particularly spendy (by Prague standards), I'd look elsewhere.
Pros: Well-designed and beautiful restaurant, Friendly staff, Great for a date night
Cons: Expensive, Not much for that high price, Mostly vegetarian

Went here on the final day of our trip to Prague and truly did save the best till last! Absolutely stunning interiors (so inspiring) and the menu was insane. Both me and my friend had the vegan sampling menu which including steak tartare, deep fried sushi & a mango and chocolate mousse. I cannot big this place up enough - would love to visit again! And has opened my eyes to how well veganism and fine dining can work together! Beautiful wine was served also, friendly staff & although pricier than a normal restaurant - was still way cheaper than anywhere similar in the U.K.

Not a great experience! - Edit
We expected the food to have more flavour. I got the fried sushi and the soy sauce came in a dish way too small to fit the sushi in! Should be more thought out for such prices! The food at vegan Loving Hut, which has similar menu items tastes better and saves so much money! Also, after asking for the cheapest on the menu, the waitress treated us like we don't have any money and kept laughing at us. We did not feel welcome or comfortable. After finishing our meal she was very unpleasant when we asked to split the bill. She was rude and told us we should've told her in the beginning because now she has to calculate it! UHH IT'S YOUR JOB TO DO THAT? AND IT'S YOUR JOB TO BE NICE TO CUSTOMERS. Anyway... would not recommend and will not come back here because the service is not that great, food could be better, interior too modern and waitress very rude.

In some ways, I wish more veg restaurants were like thi - Edit
Top scores for presentation. For me one of the downsides of being veg is that often restaurants and meals are not on par with what some 'normal' restaurants would-not that they are bad--but just the elements that make a restaurant fancy to the point you can impress your colleagues or a business client with. Etnosvet fits this very well, dishes are professionally prepared and the display is excellent. That being said-perhaps they lack some 'oomph' of really owning and exploring veg cuisine (veg version of burger, sushi, wellington, tartar, pad thai ect you know the deal)... many meals seemed to be 'veg' versions of meat. Still it was tasty, and a restaurant that will help people transition away from meat. Service was good. I have been veg for so long I didn't know what a wellington was/is, so i ordered it out of curiosity, realising then it was a veg-version of a meat dish. Still it was very delicious..
