Tasty!

After wanting to try Eli’s for a while, my boyfriend and I finally stopped by. Neither of us had ever had Peruvian food, so we were excited. I got the arroz chaufa vegan (fried rice) and a maracuyá (passion fruit) drink. The ceviche looked good, but unfortunately, it was not available the day we went. The fried rice was packed with tofu and really tasty, and the drink was super refreshing! It was over 100 degrees the day we visited (months ago), so the drink was definitely our favorite part for obvious reasons.

The person working was very kind, explained the menu, and was vegan aware. We also learned some Peruvian slang while we were there, which was fun. We enjoyed our visit and look forward to going back!

Vegan options and knowledgeable staff!

There is a small vegan section of the menu with vegan ceviche, vegan fried rice and quinoa salad. Unfortunately the ceviche was not available. The fried rice with tofu was really good!!!
A few of the other menu items said it could be made vegan, however our server clarified that there is beef stock in the sauce.
Nice atmosphere and friendly service!

best vegan peruvian in sd

it’s really hard to find vegan options at a peruvian restaurant that are more than just quinoa, but this place has a separate vegan section on the menu and clear labeling throughout! the arroz chaufa and ceviche were delicious, just how my grandma makes them.

the arroz chaufa was a mountain of fried rice with fried tofu that was so good. i was shocked by the vegan creativity in the ceviche - they used mushrooms instead of fish and the texture and flavor is so good it doesn’t taste like mushrooms at all.
