Take-out
Southern soul food approach with a menu of veggies, proteins, desserts, and alcoholic drinks. Examples of food: mac and cheese, collards, green beans, chik'n, and tofu in the slow cooked and battered style of southern kitchen. Est. 2019 inside Anacostia Arts Center, a short walk from Anacostia Metro station. Has roof patio. Black-owned. Open Tue-Sun 12:00pm-5:00pm. Closed Mon.

Amazing food - Edit
I have no complaints about the food whatsoever. It was really tasty, and the dude was super chill and friendly too. However, they unfortunately ran out of utensils and there wasn't really too much of a seating area in the restaurant itself. I would 100% go back to eat here though, without a doubt.

Delicious!! - Edit
Absolutely delicious vegan soul food. Simple and straight-to-the-point type of eatery where you can get your food to go. There are chairs and tables in the building however, which is very convenient.

Vegan soul food - Edit
Service was excellent - spoke with gentleman who was vegan 1 year, took the time to explain all the options and helped us split things up so we could try everything we were looking for. Also gave us a list of suggestions for other vegan spots to try when he found out we were from out of town.
Read moreEnjoyed the curry. The sesame sauce on the chicken wings was nice, a touch of heat but mild enough for my 7 year old to enjoy.
Florentine was not as flavorful as I anticipated.
Kid said it was the best mac and cheese ever (he's 7 but does like his Mac n cheese- he tried the cashew based option)
Picked up two packaged cake slices, each marked with a different third party business. One was moist and delicious, the other was unfortunately stale and upon further inspection there was a date of 3 days before the current on the back. Could just be someone missed it.

Delicious soul food - Edit
Really yummy food. Two types of mac and cheese, they'll do half and half if you can't decide which one to try! It's prepared food and the menu varies somewhat everyday, but you can't go wrong when ordering. The staff are super friendly.
Read moreThere are only three high top tables inside, but I don't know if these ever fill up. It's also easy to take to go.
Their stall is all the way in the back of the Anacostia Arts Center's long hallway. There are a few other cute shops inside like a vintage clothing store and an independent bookstore that are worth checking out. We went because it's a short walk from the Frederick Douglass House. We left our car in the Frederick Douglass House's free parking lot after our tour, but street parking also didn't look so bad on Sunday.
