Oversell themselves, end up disappointed - Edit
Maybe I came in with a little bit of too high of expectations given that this is a 3-Michelin star restaurant (rated during when it sold meat).
Read moreAll courses of the 2022 winter menu hit the same tasting note, nearly all had some mushroom or truffle element.
Given how much we spent ($320 min./person) and that price no longer includes gratuity, we both wished we would have bought $600 worth of food elsewhere.

FOOD ****
Read moreWe chose to give this 4 stars as we thought it was a 5 star experience due to inventiveness of the food, but after the meal we felt it was heavy on the salt and it wasn’t a meal you said, oh wow I need to come back here and eat this again asap!
Pros: Lots of vegan options , Great dessert
Cons: Expensive , Too much food , Salty

Eleven Madison Square - Edit
This place is definitely an experience. Tried the 6 course meal. Favorite was the oyster mushroom. Worth checking out for a special occasion. One of the only 3 star Michelin rated vegan restaurants. It's expensive for sure, so check the prices before you go. Get reservations if you can, you can also show up at 5 when they open and try to get a seat at the bar.

Expected more - Edit
Service 5. Tasting, including wine, 3. Hence 4 stars. 3 platings were over salted, with apologizes and corrected. Served a corked wine, with apologies and corrected. Charged twice for the wine tasting, corrected with apologies.

Perfection - Edit
This isn’t just dinner, it’s an experience, and worth every penny. Three hours of pure joy, with impeccable service, stunning ambiance, perfect wine pairings, and the food. Oh, the food. Every bite was a new and totally unique sensation of flavors, that is almost impossible to describe. Every course was a highlight. A night we will never forget.

Fantastic experience - Edit
Have not really had any truly fine dining experiences since becoming vegan and when a table opened up we jumped at it! Everything was incredible. What a joy. The food was flavorful fresh and innovative! The time flew by. No one left hungry. The bread and sunflower butter? Bye bye diet! One of my favorite parts were the note relaxed and casual atmosphere. Since it’s a tasting menu and we all got the same, a few items came “ family style” we even had to use our hands. Highly recommend!

And for the rest of us...the bar - Edit
There are two reasons I will not likely dine at what I am certain is a fabulous restaurant. One - paying hundreds of $$$$$ for a single meal (beverages not included) is something I just cannot bring myself to do. Two, the food is very rich and, though plant-based, does not resemble an actual plant. I am more of a rice, beans and steamed greens person.
Read moreThat said, I did visit their lovely bar (which offers a nice view of the stunning dining room) and it was a great experience. I had a "soft" cocktail (another term apparently for a mocktail) and one of the bar snacks - carrot tartare. This resembled an orange armadillo but tasted terrific and very carroty.
This is a "service included" establishment and the drink, snack and tip came to approximately $50 and well worth it to experience this top-notch, vegan cuisine.
TIP: they offer a smaller, half-priced dinner in the bar ($175/person) which may be more within your budget/comfort area.
Pros: 100% plant-based menu, Excellent, high end cuisine & service, Gorgeous interior
Cons: Highly processed food

Thanks for checking this place out and reviewing it. I was so curious about what this place is like, though I can't imagine ever even being able to afford even the "budget" dinner. So now at least all HC'ers will be able to check this place out vicariously through your review (as well as gabandtonic's). And now that I know that you can get something here for about $50 (still not cheap!) I might check it out some day.

Fully vegan and absolutely astonishing - Edit
Blown away- each course of the 10 part pairing menu is just incredible. From a tomato and basil starter to a 3-day roasted beet dish, each plate is so complex and satisfying it’s unbelievable that this is a “new” vegan restaurant. Each course will have you questioning how far your taste complexity can go- the amount of salt/sweet/umami of each dish is sublime. Highly recommend the reserve wine pairing as well. Note: this is a 3 star Michelin restaurant so know it is extremely pricey.
