Almost as good as Alnatura - Edit
I went into EkoPlaza with the expectations of a level of vegan selection that can compete with Alnatura in Germany. EkoPlaza do have a great selection of vegan products; but it is only slightly greater than regular shops in Amsterdam like Albert Heijn.
Read moreEkoPlaza are also inconsistent in labeling vegan products. For example: a separate vegan section in the refrigerated counter have EVERY vegan item labeled; while vegan to-go items are not labeled at all.
When EkoPlaza is an 100 % organic chain, they should emphasize the vegan products much more than they do now.

Om positief te beginnen goede producten en ruim assortiment . Helaas houdt het personeel zich niet aan de anti-covid regels. Op de vriendelijk gestelde vraag waarom geen mondkapje werd gedragen, was het klantonvriendelijke antwoord "daar geef ik geen antwoord op!". Kennelijk heeft de gezondheid van de klanten niet in alle opzichten prioriteit

Heartily agree with the 2014 review of this store - not vegetarian, but lots of vegan items. A little underused- I always worry about establishments catering to vegans that aren't busy enough! But what can I do - only visit Amsterdam every other year...

Probably the best health food chain in Amsterdam - Edit
This is very much a health food store, not a vegetarian, vegan, raw or fully organic store, but is has a wide selection of items for people of all of the above diets. It is possible to do a whole shop here, as fruits, vegetables, breads, canned items, cakes and biscuits, refrigerated items including dairy-free cheese, pastas and grains, nuts and seeds and drinks are all available. This is a mid-size EkoPlaza chain, with prices similar to at other health food stores in the city and a slightly better vegan selection.
