Great affordable local veggie food

This place is nothing fancy but sure hits the spot if you want some affordable and tasty local food. Main dish plus rice costs around 55,000 dong with plenty of options to choose from. The staff didn't speak English that well so need to be patient and speak slowly when ordering.

Pros: Varied vegan options, Tasty local food, Very cheap

Cons: Limited English, A bit of noise and smell from the main road

Delicious local vegan

Unfussy local shop serving inexpensive tasty vegan food, including mock meats. I discovered it by recommendation from my local tour guide. The tofu & mushroom clay pot was especially delicious. 130,000VND for 2 people.

decent, nothing special

food was decent, price was decent. Nothing special to write home about and I don’t need to come back. the service was neutral not good or bad. the fresh spring roll was already premade came out too fast and was hard on the ends the rice paper wrap i guess went dry. but once i bit and finally got inside its was tasty. the fried noodle and veggie came out totally different than i imagine. i was thinking thai stir fri style noodle n veggie but this came out with a thick broth i thought it was a strew and the wrong order but the big white rice noodles were underneath. it was tasty. no complaints really on the food for the price. i give food a 7/10. im also a vegan chef so take my grade as i have high standards. if you stay close by try this place out. it was a 10min walk for me. if not its not worth a trip or long commute to get to

Pros: portion was good, price , good people watching on the main road

Delicious buffet selection

Delicious buffet selection, these guys have a bahn mi cart out front, which also operates for restaurant service and takeaway. You'll find its best to go in the morning when things are fresh, you'll encounter a range of mock meats, vegetables, etc. It seems that ordering this way is ideal considering the negative experiences of others 40k a plate.

Not going again

I had the vegan & mushroom noodle soup. It was packed with other veg which was nice, the noodles were good as well but the broth was pretty much tasteless and seemed to be a plain vegetable broth. The mushrooms tasted like canned mushrooms. Despite the menu stating being a vegan restaurant, there are a lot of menu items containing egg. Also some items included chicken and fish, not sure if those were vegan/veggi.

Cheap and delicious

Loved their bún thái! Awesome sweet and sour broth and generously filled with water spinach, tofu, banana blossom, noodles and mushrooms. Very satisfying, and cheap too!

Terrible experience

I’d honestly like to give 0 stars. Despite being called a vegan restaurant many things on the menu say egg eg egg noodle, egg rolls. The order was wrong. I ordered French fries (half of which were inedible) and the waiter said in Vietnamese “fried egg roll”. My Vietnamese friend checked this and said clearly it should be French fries. So they brought both which we were charged for. The sweet and sour vegetables should have been on the menu as “random vegetables in the hottest sauce you’ve ever tasted”. I sweated buckets just eating it. The (unordered) egg rolls went uneaten as I could not trust them to be vegan. Service was shocking too with the waiter totally uninterested.

Hardly a surprise it was virtually deserted at prime time on a Saturday night.

Huge menu. Huge interior.

I've been coming to this local restaurant for years.
Cheap. Delicious. Mostly vegan.
Metal tables. Plastic chairs. Dusty ceiling fans pushing the hot air around. In other words, perfect.
A must if you are travelling in Saigon.

Very tasty food

Ambience is zero, service almost the same and they charge you 5k for a napkin.....but the food is fukin tasty! Literally everything I’ve had here is really good.
Who comes to Asia for the service?
Ps the lunchtime rice and mixed veg dish (30k) was very disappointing. Stick to the main menu is my advice

Overpriced

I’ve been here twice because it’s close to my hostel. The first night we got terrible service and the meal was a total rip off. We ordered a Claypot for 55000 and it came out with 5 very thin slices of mock meat and nothing else. No vegetables, no sauce, nothing. It was barely enough to cover the base of the Claypot in a single layer. Absolutely ridiculous. We inquired with the waiter if there had been a mistake (we had some Vietnamese locals with us), who just said ‘I’m just a waiter’ and ran off and ignored us for the rest of the night. The second time I went for lunch I ordered a rice dish for 50000 having observed others in the restaurant with decent portions for those meals. It was really not good, no protein/tofu and just plain stir fried vegetables in very bland and slimy sauce. It’s also not clear what is vegan and what is vegetarian on the menu as they use eggs.

Pros: Close to backpacker area

Cons: Overpriced , Food not good

Really great food for the price

The menu states vegan on it, but they have served me side dishes of fish sauce with my meal. They have great noodle soups and vegan spring rolls. I don't really enjoy their "fake meats" but the vegetables are fresh and the stocks are tasty. The staff is also friendly and helpful.

Safe option

Fair range of options in the menu. Savory without being extraordinary. They have different breakfast specials (35k Dong) for each day of the week, but you have to be there before 9am. Staff speaks very little English but they are happy to help, plus the menu is bilingual. Expect to pay 60-100k Dong for two, but you might choose also the cheap dishes and be ok paying around 50-60k D.

Pros: Choose the tables at the sides directly under the

Cons: Breakfast specials run out pretty quickly

Good vegan/vegetarian eatery

Great soups. Went here twice. Veggies are very fresh. Large menu with English translations, but it's not a place made for tourists -- lots of locals. Buddhist monks can be seen, always a good sign.

Very reasonable prices.

Cons: Menu is limited in the morning. Certain items are

Yum!

Went here for lunch with some non vegetarians who had heard about this place. I am not into fake meats so I was content with getting a vegetable and noodle dish which turned out to be quite delicious! The other two diners got veg with rice, fried spring rolls, and fried rice with some kind of imitation meat and crab it looked like. Decent prices (30-40k for a good serving). Also nice to get slightly off the beaten track and eat at what seemed to be a very popular lunch spot for the locals. I recommend!

Terrific Vegetarian Restaurant in District 1

We ate here 3 times during our 4 days in HCMC. They have a large staff and were always able to find someone who could communicate with us. They seem competent and professional and very clean. They have hot pot for 140,000 (for 2 people). The rest of the prices are around 25,000-40,000. We loved their seaweed soup (#38). We asked them to add some tofu and they obliged. It was delicious! They also have great non-fried spring-rolls. We bought some for tomorrow's breakfast (they are only available after 3 pm). Food arrives quickly. Their menu is extensive. Today, they surprised us with some jasmin tea. Lovely. Too bad we are leaving HCMC tomorrow!

Pros: Clean, professional, high quality, Inexpensive, Location
