Calzone pizza is perfect, but the cleaning issue needs to be fixed

Vegan pizza Calzone is worth coming to Dilijan for! The pizza is quite huge, one was enough for two (and we were just starving!), as a filling there were homemade pieces of lentil tofu, fried, vegan Parmesan and vegetables. The filling was super juicy. The dough was perfect! I hope, my photos show how beautiful that pizza was.

Pizza was prepared quickly in a professional oven. The staff is friendly and helpful. Of the minuses: they brought us insufficiently clean cutlery (forks and knives), so I did not use the fork, but cleaned the knife with a napkin. However, the knives here are not sharp at all and do not cut. In my opinion, the team needs to resolve the issue with cutlery.

The bathroom is very small and uncomfortable, I had to squirm like a worm to somehow fit in there. In addition, the bathroom sink was not clean enough, unfortunately. When I went to the toilet for the first time, there was a whole roll of toilet paper. After lunch, I went there again, but the roll had disappeared somewhere, although there were no more customers in the establishment besides my husband and me. Quite an unexpected moment.

Summary: the dishes here are delicious, but the cleaning issue needs to be fixed.

Pros: perfect vegan pizzas, fast service, friendly staff

Cons: insufficiently clean cutlery, insufficiently clean bathroom

We order here every two weeks or so

Recently, Dilijan Fresh introduced vegan calzones with lentil tofu, and it's quite an intriguing dish that's definitely worth trying, especially compared to other places in Dilijan.

The lentil tofu itself is interesting: tender on the inside, crispy on the outside. Its flavor and texture are unique, hard to compare with anything else. To me, it feels more like a patty than tofu :)

One calzone equals one serving. I'm a 50kg girl, and I can eat one in one go (though I do eat a lot 😅) My husband, being a 75kg man, stretches it out to two meals.

As for the filling, the amount of lentil patties is just perfect, they didn't skimp on that. It would be great if they could add a bit more of the other ingredients (especially mushrooms!) to avoid some hollow areas inside.

The format is more for those who prefer Neapolitan pizza. The dough is juicy and tasty.

It's served with sweet chili sauce. There are jalapeños in the photo, but for some reason, they didn't add them when we ordered a second time.

The only downside is the so-called "cashew parmesan". I expected something that would at least remotely resemble cheese, with hopes of it being abundant and stretchy. In reality, it's more like nutty crumbs, and I wouldn't even add it to the calzone (the cheese is unnoticeable).

Apart from this, Dilijan Fresh also offers vegan pizza, which we tried before. To me, it feels a bit bare: the same cashew cheese and a small amount of vegetables. But they recently added lentil tofu to it, so we might give it a try in this new version.

All in all, the calzone is unlikely to disappoint, do check it out!

Nice!

Got a takeaway calzone there! High quality pizza dough homemade falafel homemade cashew parmesan and sauces mushrooms onion and spices dried tomatoes. Extremely tasty! Especially for those who likes meat substitutes — for me it tasted even a bit too "meaty". But great overall❤️
