French style restaurant and creperie in the West Village since 2016. Dishes may include vegan steak truffle frites, coq au vin, poulet Basquaise, and crepes, both sweet and savory (galettes). Makes plant-based cheeses in-house. Small and intimate. Relocated from 20 Christopher St. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-9:30pm.

This restaurant is exactly what you pray it is - amazing French vegan food. Honestly, it was so hard to pick what to get. The waiter suggested Escargot and Coq Au Vin. Of course, he said he could only one favorite. It has been so long since I had proper French food. I could have cried. Come here!! 🥹❤️

Oily food, bad service - Edit
Tiny restaurant, was really loud when we were there, truffle fries were inedible. You couldn’t even tell that once upon a time they might have been a potato. Onion soup delicious. Had the mr. seguin crime and the vegan cheese they used was also incredibly oily and there was too much agave to offset the savory nature of the crepe. Wish I could have loved it more as this restaurant concept is cool, but nope!

100% French VEGAN Food - Edit
100% vegan French restaurant with incredible vegan savory and sweet crepes and a plethora of authentic French dishes!
Read moreFood****
I enjoyed nearly all the food on the table minus my plate ( Vegan Steak Tartare). I used to eat steak tartare when I was younger and really enjoyed the taste but since this was not similar to what I used to eat when I was non-vegan it had a peculiar taste. I definitely recommend trying the Vegan Tournedos Rossini (incredible and so delicious), Plateau de Fromage Vegetale, La Lolotte, and Ratatouille--these dishes definitely made up for mine and I would certainly go back and order any of these! Portion sizes are definitely adequate as well!
Service***
Service was quick but I felt personality was lacking in both waiters that served us and one waiter spilled all my fries on the table and just said "oh well". The other waiter was very nice and accommodating to our table. I'm not giving this less stars because that waiter could have just had a bad day!
Atmosphere****
Small but cute and comfortable, which is typically difficult for restaurants to pull off but Delice and Sarassin does with effective lighting and seat spacing!
Price$$$
Over $15 per Dish and sometimes in the 20s and even 30s for certain Dishes but worth it!

Wow! - Edit
My family & I were super impressed with everything we ordered! We were blown away with how amazing the flavors were in each dish. They make some serious magic happen in that kitchen. The smoked salmon appetizer was unreal! I don’t mind paying more if it’s quality food like this. I can’t wait to return!

Decadent! - Edit
We stopped here for lunch during a cruise port visit to NYC. Although on the pricey side, where can you find vegan French food!? We really enjoyed everything we tried – French onion soup, the Verrine de Saumon, the “beef” Bourguignon. The dessert crepes were amazing. I thought it was odd that they named their dishes after the animal product version (e.g. foie gras) as in some ways that is unappealing to a vegan diner. All in all, it was a decadent treat to dine here!

vegan French cuisine - Edit
A small eatery with French cuisine, most of which are off limits to vegans in there standard form, so being able to eat all-vegan French food is a treat! The food tastes great--and the menu is pricey. The surroundings are a bit more cramped and less elegant than similarly priced vegan restaurants, but the atmosphere nonetheless is quite nice.

Amazing French vegan - Edit
I have been so many times that I’ve tried almost everything on the menu. Best vegan cheese I’ve ever had, flavorful dishes, and have gotten to try French cuisine I never would have been able to otherwise. My favorites so far have been the escargot, brie fondant, duck, and steak tartare.

The French onion soup and creme brûlée were awesome. The crepes aren’t anything special though. Seems like some items are a lot better than others.

Disappointing but my friend loves it - Edit
Not sure if it’s my personal preference, but I just hated everything here. Besides the AMAZING escargot. Besides that, all the fake meat was terrible to me. My friend is obsessed with it and it’s her fav place in nyc. It’s preference I guess!

consistently good - Edit
i have eaten here several times. it's a reliable place, and i love taking non-vegan friends who are still on the "vegan = brown rice, tofu, and leaves; i'm gonna hate it" bandwagon. anyway, the crepes are always delicious and use really creative and fresh ingredients. i do not leave hungry. however, the place is SMALL! i do not love coming in wintertime because where does the sleepingbag coat go? also, service is so slow. i could have a birthday before i see the cheque...AND the yummy crepe is often congealed by the time it gets to the table. sacre bleu!

Cozy space and yummy French food - Edit
We ate there last night for a birthday dinner. An omnivore with us enjoyed the French onion soup as a starter and dove into the chicken coq au Vin. I had the escargot starter followed by the scallops, both of which were delicious. We shared a bottle of the vegan Bordeaux, which oddly was served in a carafe and not the bottle. It’s a very small place and rather loud as a result, but we had a great time.

Rich Tasting Vegan French Cuisine - Edit
🌱This place is a true vegan gem in the West Village of NYC. It is a quaint and cozy French restaurant that serves veganized versions of traditional French cuisine. They have everything on the menu from escargot made of oyster mushrooms, foie gras, brie made out of macadamia nuts, steak tartare, French onion soup, crepes, etc.
Read moreThe food is all rich and delicious. It's a truly unique vegan dining experience. The French onion soup was covered in a thick layer of vegan cheese and loaded with rich onions. The foie gras was good, but not spectacular. It came with fig jam and some bread. The steak tartare was served cold as it is supposed to be, along with some fries. The tartare had the rich flavor of truffles and was very delicious. The fries were thick cut, and I'd like to know if they are made in house or not. They could have used some mayo or other sauce for dipping, which was not provided. The savory crepe was huge and packed with delicious fillings. The consistency of the crepe was a bit thicker and softer than usual, but still very good. The dessert crepe was a nice treat, with vanilla ice cream, salted caramel, and baked apples. The coffee was good, but I think they used sweetened oatmilk in my latté which made the drink taste like it had sugar in it. It was a great dinner, but they should work on perfecting the finer details of the food.
Overall, this place is a great vegan dining experience and I will definitely be returning. Their menu is so extensive and I look forward to trying more of their offerings.🌱

Excited !! - Edit
Hi there,
Read moreMy name is Chris, I am the owner of D&S.
This is a family business, my mom Yvette Caron is your chef, and we are so excited to start offering vegan french dishes.
For those that traveled to France, you probably know how complicated and almost impossible to find vegan food... everything is egg or cream based...
We worked for 14 month, trying to recreate traditional french dishes, it took a lot of time and efforts but we are finally ready!
If you wondered what a boeuf bourguignon, a foie gras or coq au vin tastes like, now you can find it here!
We are very happy to finally make that big step, for us (vegan) and for the animals, the planet and the future...
Stop by, and let us know what you think. And hopefully, we cross fingers that you like it and will come back!

Delicious French Cuisine - Edit
It’s a fairly small space in a cool neighbourhood (seats about 22 tightly). And, oh the food!!!! I just had a main today since I foolishly had a late lunch but will certainly never make that mistake again. The ‘duck’ (seitan) with peas and carrots was absolutely delicious! All the plates around me looked equally delectable and I could only hear expressions of delight. The service was friendly and speedy.

Squeezed in! - Edit
Cheese board starter was one of the BEST things we had since arriving in NY. We had not booked (a Monday) but they squeezed us in, if we could eat fast, and we can! Menu a bit confusing to read titles in French which are fancy meat dishes. We had steak and a club sandwich for mains.

Nowhere else does this vegan menu! - Edit
There are some things that you can't easily find in vegan restaurants, and French cuisine is one of them. Delice & Sarrasin fills that void with creative and sometimes complex takes on these famed dishes.
Read moreThe highlight of our visit was the macademia nut brie. I have never tasted such an accurate recreation of cheese from taste to texture since going vegan! It was not only delicious but the potatoes and bread served with it were a great pairing for the cheese's flavour.
I had the duck confit and found the seitan slightly too tough, but overall it was pleasant.
Pros: Unique menu, Stellar fake cheese, Excellent atmosphere
Cons: Expensive
