Disappointing food

1/14/24: The only vegan app was Yuca fries, and the dipping sauce was not vegan. Fries were tasty but very salty.
For the main course, only 2 options. We shared the vegan feijoada. It was basically a big pot of black beans with some flavoring and a few veggies/mushrooms and some bland and extremely hard/crispy tofu here or there. We are not Brasilian, so we cannot speak to its authenticity, but the quantity of black beans was overwhelming, although flavor was good. It essentially felt like a giant side. Not the best, was pretty disappointed.

For drinks, we shared the Guava Caipirinha, which was delicious!!

Pros: Good drink

Cons: The main felt like a giant side dish, Tofu preparation was abysmal

It’s great!

They have great vegan versions of classic Brazilian dishes such as feijoada. Caipirinhas are great too!

Cons: Not many options

Tiny gem in West Village

I never knew this place existed even though I often eat at Urban Vegan Kitchen right next door. It’s a good option when eating with omnis that won’t go vegan. Make a reservation on the website - it’s a narrow restaurant with not many tables but there is a backyard with additional tables.

Pros: Rare vegan Brazilian options, Friendly service, Next door to Urban Vegan Kitchen

Cons: Food was heavily salted

Delish and authentic!!!

The outdoor seating is atmospheric and very comfortable, and the service is excellent. The drinks are strong!! There are many delicious vegan options on the menu but you can’t go wrong with the vegan feijoada and the vegan stroganoff (basically, an aromatic savory coconut stew with chick peas, carrots, squash and peppers). The yucca fries are delicious and the garlic sauce is vegan. While Brazilian food is pretty meat-centric, this kitchen gladly works with you to adapt all their non-meat dishes to accommodate a vegan diet. A stylish, fun option for excellent food in the West Village

Pros: Very comfortable outdoor seating, Large portions, Careful cooking

Vegan feijoada and stroganoff

I miss Brazilian food and the feijoada was so authentic. But let me tell you about the stroganoff. What a treat!!! Way better than the regular brazilian one! Dreamy food! Oh and let’s not forget the strong caipirinhas 🍸

So happy

As a vegan Brazilian, I do miss feijoada so much! It’s labor intensive to cook it at home in a tiny nyc kitchen. I was so excited to walk by and check the menu and see that serve vegan feijoada! No mock meat, huge chunks of stewed mushrooms and carrots with savory garlicky black beans and served with my favorite covê… Finely sliced collard greens just like my grandmas! My partner had the vegan stroganoff… beware it’s Brazilian style so it has tomato in the sauce, he wasn’t expecting that. Great rice portions and even the little slices of orange that gets served with feijoada traditionally. I’m so excited this exists!

Pros: Vegan feijoada is bomb , Nice cocktails , More than one vegan dish

Cons: Wish it was alll vegan
