Thoughtful and tasty veg options - Edit
They had three vegan options for mains and several starters as well as a vegan ice cream. Very knowledgeable staff. Great option for a mixed veg/non veg group

A Warm Embrace of Vegan Delights in a Classic Pub Setting - Edit
Darcy's Pub in Belfast extends a warm invitation to both the veggie enthusiasts and the casual diners, offering a comforting blend of traditional pub ambiance with a thoughtful vegan menu. The demeanor of the waitstaff complements the hearty fare on offer - they're friendly, attentive, and add to the overall congenial atmosphere of an upscale pub.
Read moreMy culinary adventure began with the Nut and Mushroom Wellington, a dish that mirrored the heartiness of its meaty counterpart while staying true to its vegan essence. Encased in a golden crust, the filling was a medley of textures and flavors, served alongside creamy mashed potatoes, savory gravy, and a side of red cabbage. While the dish was a comforting ode to fall, the spicing in the red cabbage seemed to borrow from a palette more suited to an Indian dish, yet it didn't overshadow the overall harmony of flavors.
With only a day to spare in Belfast, I ventured further into the menu and opted for the Vegetarian Pie - an open-faced delight with a tender biscuit base, smothered in a creamy white sauce bustling with veggies. Every bite was a rich tapestry of flavors, enhanced further by the seasoned fries that carried a whisper of herbs and spices.
Though my appetite waved a white flag before I could venture into the (v)Cottage Pie and the Vegan Sausages, the satisfaction from the meal lingered. The dishes at Darcy's not only satiated my appetite but also resonated with my no-meat journey that's fueled by a spiritual awakening. Each dish showcased a level of ingenuity and a respect for the plant-based path, affirming that a passion for food and a compassionate lifestyle can indeed walk hand in hand.
Darcy's Pub is more than just a dining spot; it's a haven for those seeking to enjoy vegan fare that doesn't compromise on flavor, tradition, or the joy of dining in a quaint, friendly pub setting. So whether you're a local or just passing through Belfast, make a pit stop at Darcy's and let your taste buds revel in a vegan feast that's as hearty as it is inventive.
Pros: Full flavor, Vegan/Veggie options true to pub fare, Best Cider!
Cons: I couldn't try the other items

Not cheap!! - Edit
There were 3 mains to choose from, all around the £14 mark. The "sausages" were potato cylinders piled on a bed of mashed potato. That said, the food was wholesome and tasty and the vegan white wine very pleasant. Won't go again at that price though.

Cons: Expensive, Limited options, Fine if you like potato...

Really friendly and delicious food - Edit
They have a vegetarian and vegan menu, 3 options each for starters and mains. A great option if you want some traditional Irish food but vegetarian. Service was really quick and friendly. Would give 5* if I could.

Very Delightful! - Edit
Enjoyed my Vegan Wellington (mushroom, spinach and nuts) and mashed potatoes, delicious gravy with some steamed fresh vegetables on the plate. If you are trying to stay away from oil this isn’t the meal but it wasn’t greasy at all! They have a separate menu just for Vegans with about 5 different choices. The Staff were fantastic and atmosphere was superb. They play classic rock tunes from all your favorite 60’s 70’s and 80’s bands.

"As Belfast As It Gets" - Edit
As a vegan abroad, Darcy's is exactly the kind of experience you always hope for, but rarely find - excellent local fare made vegan (or not) with plenty of options, served with warm hospitality. The meal we had here was the best of our trip - vegan sausages over champ with brown gravy and a nut and mushroom wellington with sherry sauce. Both were superb. Our servers, a tag team of Clark & Johnny, were welcoming and helpful, offering not just recommendations on the meal, but tips on things to see and do while in town, as well. On their advice, we finished with a vegan oreo & fruit sauce sundae as well as an espresso & Irish whiskey martini (leaving out the Bailey's to make it vegan) - flawless. Highly recommended!

Lovely friendly restaurant. Separate Vegan menu. Substantial portions for great price. Really surprised how tasty the meals were, even non vegan friends though the vegan meals rivalled the non vegan ones. Friendly and approachable staff.
