Tasty sandwich - Edit
Stopped off in Des Moines and found this place via Happy Cow. I love Cuban food and knew I had to try it. Sounds like this used to be a food truck, but its now a brick and mortar. A little bit hard to find when driving down the main street, but worth taking the time to seek out. We were across the street and couldn't figure out where it was. Plenty of street parking nearby. The inside is bright and cheery with quite a few tables, looks like you can dine outdoors if you choose to. It was a little hectic when we visited.
Read moreI can't remember what my partner had, but I was quite impressed with my vegetarian cubano. I love that it had jackfruit, plant based ham and plant based cheese. It had a very interesting tangy flavor to it as well. It was pretty filling, I could only eat half and had to take the rest to go. We tried the tostones as well but I did not love them as much. I'm intrigued by the loaded version. I hope to try this again when I get back out this way.

Could have went without - Edit
I’ve been wanted to come here for a while. I was happy to see that they relocated from Federal Way to Des Moines, which is closer to me. This restaurant is a brick and mortar, not a good truck (will update HappyCow after finishing review). I arrive and order the vegetarian sandwich, yucca fries, and plantains. Food is ready after 15 or so minutes.
Read moreI tried a plantain first because I love them and this was not good at all. Not sure if it just wasn’t a ripe plantain or what but I couldn’t even finish them. I then tried the yucca fries and it literally tasted unseasoned, which was shocking as this restaurant is black owned. The sandwich was cool which is what saved this from being a 1-star review.
