Best bento boxes! - Edit
We arrived too late for the lunch service, but the staff very kindly made us a bento box to take away, which we ate in the park in the sunshine - perfect!

Tasty lunch - Edit
We stopped here for lunch and really enjoyed it. There is English on the menu but the shop owners don't speak any English. We arrived a bit early for lunch (start serving at 1130) but another customer helped us with translations. We enjoyed our filling meal and looking around the vegetarian shop for an easy hostel dinner.

Tastiest vegan lunch in Hiroshima - Edit
Despite the fact that the shop is not 100% vegan or vegetarian, the lunches here are always 100% vegan. You can tell how much care is put into creating each little dish included in their vegan lunch plates (it must take forever to prepare) and they always contain a delightful variety of textures and flavors. The curry lunch plate is the one to go for if you are particularly hungry. Very reasonably priced and one of a tiny handful of places that offer a vegan bento to take out.

Not a vegetarian shop - Edit
A bit misleading as I think the sit down food menu is vegan, but the big "vegan" sign outside made me think this was a vegan shop, but it sells meat and fish, and things containing egg and milk. Got a vegan croquette and some vegan bread, not many other options. Small vegan sides in the fridge, quiches weren't vegan.

Healthy and homely - Edit
I longed for a healthy vegan menu after having had vegan Okonomiyaki the previous day and found everything I wished for at Croissant Marché.
Read moreThe dine-in area is small but I didn't have to wait for a seat when popping in around 13:00. The bentos and the desserts for dining in had already sold out by that time, though. I opted for the vegan set menu with five vegetable sides nad no dessert that comes at 1.000 ¥ plus tax, i.e. 1.100 ¥ in total.
The food was very good. The soup had a round and rich umami flavour. The brown rice with some adzuki beans was so sticky that even someone with little chopstick skills should easily be able to eat it. The veggie selection came with a little pot of ground sesame that I could add to my liking, and it perfectly fit the little salad on the top left.
I am not a big fan of mock meat in vegan meals, so I was a bit irritated by two of the five items on the veggie plate looking like mock meat. The taste then was better than expected and not as meaty as I had feared, but I would have preferred less processed vegetable dishes instead. The content of the veggie plate obviously changes with the season, so you might happen to get one without mock meat.
I browsed the little shop after my meal. It has a great variety of vegan products that you can grab for eating in your accommodation in case you have access to a kitchen or at least a microwave and a kettle. I bought an Iburigakko (smoked pickled radish) that I had with some bread from Andersen's later and it was delicious!
Pros: Reasonably priced , Vegan food sold in the shop, Staff very friendly
Cons: Small

A nice resource - Edit
A small shop that sells different vegan items. Unfortunately all the bentos were gone by 4:30, when we visited. Be sure to get there early if you want one.

Vegan Bento and nice staff - Edit
They offered a 2 different vegan bento.
Read moreI also found vegan chocolate (iChoc chocolate) and even vegan ramen (labeled as "vegan") in 3 different flavours (soy sauce flavour and miso and sesame flavour).
The staff was very nice. The second time I went there, I wanted to buy vegan bento once more to bring with me the next day because I was going to Okunoshima and I needed to bring food, but it was already evening and they didn't have more bento to sell and they opened at 10am and I would be gone before that time. So the woman told me that she will be at the shop since 8:30am and I could come and she will have my bento ready. And that's exactly how it was.😄

Cute little corner shop - Edit
Nice little shop with lots of vegan groceries you can buy. They have vegan bento box( that sadly had sold out) and other little salad pots that are vegan. I got a vegan quiche and blueberry cake that both tasted amazing! It’s quite small so there’s not a huge eating area but it’s nice and cosy and ran by a very sweet couple.

Great Bento box! - Edit
Little organic store by the Hiroshima museum, they serve vegan bentos, bread and other vegan options. The food was fresh and full of flavor. Portion is small, if you eat a lot I suggest you get two bentos and a bread (the bread was delicious!).

Small, simple, satisfying - Edit
A lovely little organic food shop with a few seats to sit in and have lunch. There were two vegan lunch sets on offer and both were very tasty, simple Japanese food. The prices were reasonable - 800 for a lunch set. The staff were friendly, though limited English is spoken. A nice choice, close to the peace park.

Useful with vegan products - Edit
Small shop and bento-serving place. We found vegan chocolate, soy meat, seitan, canned products, flours, nuts and seeds and also vegan bread, which is very hard to find in Japan. The lady working there was patient with our attempts to ask about the bread, and after using google translate she said there were no animal products in it. ITs a small loaf but its really nice. Didn't try the bento but did buy many of the grocery items.
