It’s… vegan food… yay…

Let me just start off by saying - vegan options in a huge shopping centre? Awesome.
But this level of average for that price tag? Shocking. We had the avocado cheeseburger and the pasta. The burger was ok, standard vegan burger you’d expect to find anywhere really, not a heap of flavour but good ingredients.
Now the pasta, was inedible. It tasted like one of the staff members dropped a fat squeeze of dish washing detergent right in the bowl, no word of exaggeration. We pushed through and ate most of it out of desperation and not wanting to be rude but it was horrible - if you’re in the area and this is your only option, go for it, but avoid the pasta like the plague, and keep your expectations low.

Pros: Decent amount of vegan options

Cons: Price, Pasta, Extremely average flavours

Small portions

They have some clearly labeled vegan options. Portions are pretty small, taste is fine. You find it on the third floor of a shopping mall (Higashi Umeda).

Tasty food

Taste-wise it is up there, however portion size is rather small and food and drinks are quite expensive.

Ol’ reliable

Been coming here for years and it still just works. Highly recommend.

Prices are also not bad for cafes in Japan, not sure why people get up in arms over it.

Not sure it’s worth the price

Food was spenny but not bad. Got the soy chicken and rice, chicken was good but rice was a bit plain. Deserts were great!

Nothing crazy but tasty

Food was good and hit the spot. It is a bit expensive for what it is, but because the location is so nice I didn’t mind too much!

Great food with a nice view

Tasty vegan meals with a good amount of veggies - vegan dishes are primarily bowls and burgers. The dishes are a bit more pricey, but the portion size is appropriate. English menu is available and you are able to eat on a terrace or inside. The restaurant is on the third floor.

Many choices for vegans

Lots of variation, including rice bowls, burgers, curries, even vegan fried 'fish'. Everything was delicious and generous portions.

Pros: Many options, Delicious, Pretty classy

Good 👍

The food is good but I think a bit overpriced. You get a nice view over Osaka tho.😉
The restaurant is quite spacey and has a chill atmosphere.
I had the avocado cheese burger. My boyfriend a Thai style curry with fried soy meat. Both were yummy!

Lovely for a fancy dinner or a brunch date (whether solo or not)

There is a great variety and the food was well portioned and delicious

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Fairly responsible prices , I’d give it a 5 star but the app won’t allow me

Cons: Kitchen closes at 19h00/19h30

Very good meals

Got two sets, both were incredibly good, very impressed. It is a little pricy though. The mall that it's in felt like I didn't belong there due to how posh it seemed.

Ótima variedade

Tem que ver o cardápio com a descrição vegan pois nem tudo é vegan. Mas tem muita variedade.

Pros: Delicioso

Cons: Não é 100% vegan

Nice

Located inside a mall.

Food was good, also a good vegan cheese in the burger, which in this style is not easy to find in Osaka.

Good vegan options

This restaurant is tucked away in a department store, but still has a nice, chill vibe. The food is well made, but the Everything Bowl could use a bit more of a sauce or dressing. The burgers are good though!

Pros: Variety of vegan options, Tasty food

Cons: Slightly boring bowl

The tastes and place are nice, but expensive overall.

This is the first review on HappyCow. Omni mom and omni sibling invited me to go out for lunch at this restaurant if I go out with them. I had to prevent them from going to another carnist restaurant, so I accepted the invitation.
We arrived before 13:00 on Saturday, but we took a table without waiting for people. Since then, the number of people has increased.
The waiter said we can stay for 90 minutes. The first collaboration with the model Kelly-san was on. I ordered gluten-free vegan Veggie Pad Thai, and gluten-free vegan raw cheesecake.
The Pad Thai was so yummy and plenty of vegetables. FYI, this Pad Thai was cold.
The sad thing is omni mom asked for a non-vegan menu, then I became dead inside.
The dessert was very good. We also ordered gluten-free vegan baked cheesecake, which is not the collaboration. I thought the raw one was sweeter and sourer than the baked one.
The collaboration menus with Kelly-san are all vegan and most menus are gluten-free, so I'm happy with that because I have wheat allergy. This collaboration is for a limited time, the first one will be on until May 31st 2021.
We ordered herbal tea after meals. The herbal tea cost only 300 yen, because it was discounted as a set menu. The amount is quite large and you can drink more than three cups, so I thought it was cheap. But well, the others are expensive.

EDIT(2022/04):
I went here the second time because of my non-vegan family. The vegan fried chicken bowl was delicious. The vegan soft cream contains amazake and is too cold for this season, I don’t recommend it. The dessert on the set menu seems to be half the amount of the fixed menu.
And did they raise the price of the set drinks? My first review said set tea costed 300 yen, but this time it’s 528 yen. So I didn’t order it. But it was good because the cold water of the water server with plants was free.
And selling non-vegan chocolates in front of the cash resister is bad. I know they’re not vegan, but the packages are confusing for foreigners and it makes me sick.

Pros: Existence of vegan menus, Existence of gluten-free vegan menus, The cozy, spacious place, and convenient location

Worth it but not perfect

I came here with a friend for lunch on a Saturday, and would recommend making a reservation if visiting on the weekend since it was quite busy. The room is lovely inside Hanshin, with a bit of a view overlooking lower Umeda. I really enjoyed being able to have a more fancy experience without the fuss of a formal restaurant setting. We shared the vegan pad Thai, lemon balsamic karrage, and gluten-free carrot cake with the daily herbal tea. The karagge was exceptional; very well flavoured, with an excellent vegan tartar sauce like nothing I've had in Japan before. The pad Thai was pleasant, but too oily and without enough peanut to be considered a true pad Thai; my friend commented that it was more like pasta. The cake was satisfying, although I have had better rice flour-based vegan cakes in Kansai. All of the portions were fairly small, and the bill total came to 5,000 yen, however I didn't mind and felt the experience was worth it.
I do see a large area for improvement in the customer service; we had several issues. The table given to us was the closest one to the entrance, which seemed like an odd choice given that we'd booked ahead. Then, when we'd decided that we would share dishes, we moved the plastic partition in the middle of the table to the side so that we could share. I'd thought that putting the partition along the outside of the table would be fine, however the server very awkwardly came and moved the partition back, saying it would "make the other guests uncomfortable." I don't see how, since we were putting it between us and them. But apparently it was fine if my friend moved and sat along the side of the table next to me and we pushed the partition backwards a little bit so it still looked "in place." We were totally bewildered and felt like it was just really insincere and illogical. The general feeling of the place, in relation to the portion size and presentation also, was that it's more about appearances than anything else. Given that I've had similar experiences over and over in Japan, however, and that the karagge was unexpectedly good, and I was in the mood to just enjoy myself and relax, it didn't really bother me. But be warned, don't go here for a cheap meal or any flexibility. This is the type of place that won't make any menu considerations or talk to you non-robotically. It's good if you want to spend some money on a pretty meal in between shopping, though.

Pros: The karagge, The interior design and food are both pretty, It's on the "healthier" side for sure

Cons: Kind of snobbish; overpriced, Insincere service

Pretty and delicious food

Such a gorgeous restaurant with great quality food, everything is so fresh and comes so beautifully presented. It tastes even better than it looks! Came here on a weekday lunch time and wasn’t too busy. The staff were super attentive and friendly and also spoke great English if you don’t have any Japanese.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , High quality food, Good portion sizes

Cons: On the slightly more expensive side

SO FULL

They have this big amazing fresh vegetable buffet and they're mostly vegan except boiled eggs and bacons. This place isn't all vegan but there are so many vegan options to choose from and on the menu, each dish clearly shows what the dish contains. I went there with several friends who aren't vegans but they were all very satisfied as well. I recommend the buffet and their fried fish hamburger. I ate so many tomatoes I thought I'd pass out.

Pros: Beautiful veggie buffet, So many vegan dishes, Very kind employees, one spoke English

Cons: Bathroom is far, Could be pricy

Pricey, but Lots of Vegan Options

I've eaten here twice. The first time I had the vegan taco rice, and it was okay. I came back because there are multiple vegan options and I wanted to give it another chance. I'm glad I did! I had the vegan fish burger and loved it! The salad bar looks good, but too expensive. The drinks are also pretty pricey, so I stuck to the fruit infused water offered for free. Very tasty. The staff is also very kind and welcoming.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Convenient location (near Osaka station)

Cons: Expensive

Great food, ok service

The matcha parfait is dreamy. Other deserts and main courses, including the famous vegan "fish" burger, are good. As always, it's a matter of taste - the friend I went with doesn't like matcha parfaits at all.

It's expensive, and the waitresses seemed shy, and relieved to use Japanese. Service was definitely unusual for Japan, and it took some work to get attention. The friend I went with wasn't amused when the waitresses huddled for a while giggling and avoiding us, but it was more or less like any busy place with slightly reluctant staff after that - we successfully ordered several times while there. I don't know if being 20 years older and extremely elegantly dressed, like the average patron, would have helped. :)

I'd go back for that parfait.

Pros: Matcha parfait of dreams

Cons: Expensive, odd service
