Awesome Food!! - Edit
First time here and loved it. Comfort food menu all vegan. Lots of dessert choices. I had the chick n waffles and was very good and satisfying. Tried the cinnamon roll cake and was moist and delicious. Want to try many other choices on menu so definitely going back.

Vegan fast food. Delicious. - Edit
Yes a Vegan Fast Food joint! Greasy, delicious and big portions. Their French dip sandwich was out of this world. Now lower those prices and make it affordable for all.

Great service - good food - Edit
We had incredible service - all of the staff was friendly & our waiter was awesome. I think depending on what I ordered I may have gone to 5-star but I had the Reuben and it was not a 5 - have to be fair to the places I do rate as 5’s that have truly outstanding food. I would definitely try it again if I am back in Eugene & would just order something else because I am sure there is a 5 star meal there 😊

Nope !!! - Edit
I was passing through on a road trip. I heard about this place on social media.
Read moreStarted with the Biscuit and Gravy. The biscuit was under cooked and gummy and the gravy had way too much sage.
I asked the server what sandwich would have the WOW factor. She told me to go with the Eugenewich.
What I got was a thick wedge of deep fried tofu with deep fried carrot bacon, and deep fried onions between two pieces of bread.
When I bit into it I got a gush of grease that covered my chin. The sandwich had no flavor other than old grease. I could not finish the sandwich and got an upset stomach later on.

Awesome new discovery - Edit
Vegan heaven here. Creative comfort food. Went for breakfast with two non-vegans who also loved their breakfasts. I had their version of a tofu with-veg scramble. Portion not huge (fine by me), and it was really delicious. Not a dieter’s restaurant, ha ha, hence the comfort food description. Wonderful waitstaff, diner ambiance (which I like). We will be back.

One of my staples when traveling to the Pacific North West. Great service, consistent southern inspired comfort food. Can't go wrong at The CornBread Cafe.

Possibly the BEST restaurant I have ever been to. I went with one other person and we ordered a lot of food to split.

Good that it’s vegan, but meh - Edit
I recently spent one day in Eugene. From the reviews, and wanting to find a vegan co fort food to take my non-vegan wife to, I picked here. It’s a fun little dinner. Plus that everything is vegan, so the full menu is available. Also good that I could bring my dogs onto the patio, and they brought a water bowl.
Read moreWe were there just after lunch started. Most tables were full, but not quite every table. It still took nearly an hour to get our food. Our waitress was barely visible during this time. This was not acceptable as they should be used to this many people. Mind you, we were all at different stages of our meals, so it’s not like 50 orders were placed at once.
I had the Reuben sandwich. It was good, but way overly salty. I cou,d barely eat it, and I like salt and add it to most things. Just way too much salt. I was disappointed, and needless my wife was not converted as her burger was also not impressive.
So great for being all vegan, and compared to nonvegan restaurants they would score high. But when compared to other vegan restaurants they fail.
Pros: All vegan, Dog friendly, Cool vibe
Cons: Overly salty, Really slow, Really really overly salty

mixed experiences - Edit
I have come here a few times while passing through the area on road trips. I vaguely remember enjoying a summer meal on the outdoor patio - Our pet dog was allowed and was given a treat. The 'classic breakfast' I recently got was weird, though. What should have been slightly salty (home fries) wasn't, but the scramble and pancake were so salty that I couldn't finish them. And I'm not against salt in general - I'm often the one that dashes more salt on my meal. They also didn't have any disposable utensils for the take-out order, which I think would be a minimal courtesy if someone asks for it. In general it's a cute place, the staff are friendly, and it's nice to have a vegan option for road trips. I just wouldn't go out of my way.

Best Food I Have Ever Had. Ever. I'm Not Kidding. - Edit
My life is forever changed. That was the best meal I've had since I can't remember!!! I brought my Omni boyfriend and he agreed ....amazing. Classic diner comfort food done right. I had the chicken fried tempeh with mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. Covered in gravy. That gravy is crazy good and idk how but that tempeh tasted like fried chicken. The breading was amazing. My bf got a spicy fried tofu sandwich and the waitress brought us over ranch to have with it (so nice of her). The ranch tasted EXACTLY like the dairy ranch I loved so much as an Omni. It blew my mind. I wanna take a bath in it or something. So delicious.

Cornbread Cafe has been my favorite place to eat since they were a food cart. In the seven years since the Polk location opened, I have never had a bad experience there!
Read moreThey have all local beer, cider, and kombucha on tap, house-made desserts, and some of the best gravy I've ever put in my mouth. The daily specials the staff come up with are frequently my favorites!

LOVE this place! - Edit
I visit Eugene once a year and I spend that entire year dreaming about Cornbread Cafe. It is probably one of the best vegan restaurants in the west. The food is delicious and they have beer! Even their rice crispy treat is perfection. I've taken meat eaters here and they have loved it too. It has a great dive/diner vibe. I cannot recommend it enough.

My Favorite Place In The World... Thus Far. - Edit
After eating here, I do not think a vegan life is complete until you have! I got the sampler platter and everything was just amazing. The mac and "cheese" was probably the best I've ever tried and honestly so was everything else. We also got the frozen PB pie and it was to die for. I would eat here every day for the rest of my life.

forget bringing kids - Edit
Decided to try this place out for my birthday. Restaurant was packed. Food was ok. I was wanting oily bad for you food but this felt soaked threw with canola oil. We brought two kids 4 years and 15 months. Not very accommodating to small kids even though they have high chairs. Not all booths are highchair ok. Ordered both kids breakfast they only brought one kid food had to ask for another order. Awfull servise. Will not be going back.

Good food but too salty - Edit
The classic breakfast dish was a sizable amount of good food, but the potatoes were too salty for my taste; I would recommend you specify light or no salt. My boyfriend ordered the Chik'n Waffle and loved it though! We would go back if we're ever in the area again.
