There's so many cool things here from food, home goods, to toiletries that I could spend hours there. Love getting Dr. Bronners in bulk by bringing my own containers to fill. Vegan prepared foods have been lifesavers on hungry nights.
I work nearby and often forget lunch. Common Market to the rescue!!! Really nice sandwiches and tons of vegan options available for many products. I love coming here for more obscure vegan cooking ingredients.
I bought my vegan chocolate birthday cake here from their case and it was AMAZING.
Fantastic selection of produce, and oh my goodness the bulk foods and coffee! We will definitely add this place to our regular rotation of can't miss stores.
They have vegan cheesecake in their cafe’s grab and go section! It’s delicious. Their cafe’s vegan breakfast sandwich is absolutely divine as well. I like to call it a vegan paradise in there, I truly could spend hours in there. The only con is none of their local breads are vegan.
All the hard to find vegan groceries; candy bars, mac and cheese, jerky, cheeses, mock meat, vodka sauce, Alfredo, and amazing prepared foods. Desserts and sandwiches! The vegan Reuben is one of the best around.
What a great store! They really offer a lot in the space they have. The takeout & café food was so good. Make sure you check your order before you leave the café though. We got someone else's sandwich by mistake, but all was resolved. We will definitely return.
This is what to order from the cafe! Add fresh spinach, tomato, red onion salt and pepper. Don’t forget the vegan mayo and pesto on either side. Enjoy!!!!!
I love this grocery store. They always have vegan friendly treats in their fresh bakery, and a huge selection of vegan items in their cold section like pies, cupcakes, muffins, etc... I’ve even seen a 12” vegan chocolate cake that could be picked up as a birthday cake for someone. How convenient is that? They carry and support local. Prices are fair. Definitely a place I go to for specialty vegan items. I am constantly impressed by their to-go vegan items in the cooler.. there have been plenty of times where I don’t feel like cooking dinner. Just hop on over here, grab a few things from the prepared foods section and I’m on my way!
My first visit to Common Market was when it was across the street in the tiny space it began in. I remember the smell of patchouli and feeling crammed into each aisle. Since the move and expansion, it’s a really nice store with tons of options! It just keeps growing, and I love the implications of that! They keep having to increase the height of the shelves to stock more inventory! Their bulk section is amazing, allowing for customers to bring their own bags to reduce waste, and they have many vegan options and add new ones frequently. I don’t live in Frederick anymore, but my also vegan parents do, and every time my fiancé and I come for a visit, we end up at Common Market, shopping for meals! I even buy my travel snacks here, including hummus and eggless sandwiches!
I prefer this co-op over MOM's so very much! First of all, they prepare some food in the store which is always a plus. In the dessert case, they'll always have two vegan cookies - chocolate chip and snickerdoodle - and many times they'll have a third, unique option such as a scone. They almost always have a vegan option in the hot food section as well - and they label the ingredients so you can see for yourself what goes into their food.
I had an experience where I accidentally bought something labeled as vegan, yet I noticed (once in my car) it had butter as an ingredient. The manager tried calling their supplier to find out whether it was vegan butter or not, but they couldn't reach them, so they gave me a refund and immediately pulled the rest and labeled them as vegetarian instead. I say this just to warn people - always check the labels!! - and to show that they really do care about their customers.
I love this little co-op. The staff is great and I love the selection here. They always have great sales. Let me be honest though, the groceries are great, but what I really go here for is the vegan chocolate chip cookies and the vegan cookie parfait. The vegan cookie parfait is my guilty pleasure. I don't know how they make the chocolate pudding so thick and creamy. I literally dream about it. I've tried to re-create it, but nothing beats the original. They keep the vegan cookie parfait in the deli case. Sometimes they have it pre-packaged in the prepared foods section. Thank you common market for vegan dessert deliciousness!
The prices are decent, the staff is extremely kind, the inventory robust, and the food tasty! They have a strong environmental mission and support local farmers, and the owner is extremely down-to-earth and kind. The hot bar can be pricy, but the food is good. If you bring reusable bags, they give you a chip that you can use to decide which organization they donate money too.
Always one or more vegan options on the hot bar in addition to salad bar. Vegan full or half wraps can be made at counter too. Sometimes vegan soup as well. Daily juice special. Smoothies to order. No fresh wheatgrass juice--not enough demand in Frederick. Great for grocery shopping as well. Do not need to be an owner to shop here. Owners get special discounts though. I use the case option discount for fresh produce and more.
Absolute BEST place in Frederick to get lunch on the go (vegans, vegetarians). The market itself is wonderful too w/ a VERY knowledgeable and polite staff (I have seen them handle situations that I myself would have blown up on)
What a fantastic place! All organic fruits and vegetables, many vegan products, including deli items, reasonably priced, friendly staff, and sparkling clean. We stopped there just to check it out thanks to the reviews previous to ours and walked out as new members or "owners" as they call it. Market well laid out in a very convenient, attractive venue with lots of parking available.
