Poutine and Nachos - didn't notice any entrees

Standard pub fare for the omnis. I didn't take a picture of the menu but I don't remember any vegan entrees.

We had the poutine and nachos. Would probably go in more often if I was more local. Probably won't drive 5 mins off the highway for this when passing through.

Pros: Felt welcoming to vegans with actual vegan options

Cons: Needs morI options , Needs something better than poutine and nachos

Would come back if I’m in Comox, but not the island’s best vegan options.

My sister and I were on one of our up-island adventures, and stopped at Church St. after the brewery we were at only had vegan-friendly snacks.
Our servers were great, and the wait on a Saturday evening wasn’t long for the two of us (even with it full inside). Beer selection was great, same with non-alcoholic options, but as far as vegan options go, it was definitely lacking a little. The vegan option for the poutine was really good, with house-made vegetable gravy to satisfy even a meat-eater, and a classic smattering of Daiya never hurt a seasoned plant-based pro. The one thing I would say could be improved, is definitely cutting the fries-in house. Potatoes? Cheap. Taking the time to cut a bunch of potatoes at the beginning of the day with an industrial cutter? Not a lot to ask. Would’ve made the option much better!
The issue I have is with the nachos.
Ingredients: Daiya mozzarella cheese, pre-diced tomatoes, pickled peppers, and black beans. That’s it. No cilantro… no green onion… no red onion… no corn… nada. Plus, we were 90% sure the sour cream they gave us was not vegan. No way it was.
Now, my tummy is hurting from the sour cream and now I’m sad because our server was so good and so nice and yeah. Little disappointed. But our server Sarah was lovely!!

Pros: Quick service , Open late , Clearly labelled vegan options

Cons: Food could use more effort & passion , Pretty sure it was non-vegan sour cream

Yes, I had to ask to sub the sour cream with guac (they did, no charge), and I asked for the crema to not be added to the nachos.
