Check opening hours in advance

Each time I tried to go here, this place was closed. It has existed for many years and is still operating, but it is open at random times (closed Fridays and Saturdays) and with a break time in the afternoon. At present, it's temporarily closed because of the country's stricter measurements against the spread of covid.

I haven't eaten at this place so I cannot judge the food, yet. (Hopefully someday.) But I'm leaving this review here with the urgent advice to always call in advance to check opening hours here! Hope you have better luck than me.

Cons: remote location , strange opening hours

Wow thank you so much for this update! My friend has been trying to get ahold of them for me. I’m in Seoul for a few days & really wanted to eat here. I was just going to stop by and hope for the best. You saved me a trip. Will have to come back in January. Thanks again for the update!

My favorite restaurant

This is my absolute favorite restaurant. They offer both vegan and vegetarian options. Everything on the menu is delicious, but my favorites are the fried kimchi dumplings and their hot pots.

They recently made a handwritten English menu that you can ask for. They even let you control how spicy you want the food to be.

I 100% recommend you to go here!

Honestly one of the best!

The portions were huge! I ordered the kimchi dumplings and.. oh my god.. I’m still dreaming about them!
My mouth is watering while I’m writing this review 😂
I also took the bibimbap and it was soooo good, a lot of free sides were included

The staff was so kind and helpful, sadly there is no English menu but everything is vegan unless you ask for a whole egg on the soups/noodles, everything else is 100% plant based.
Oh and I forgot to say, it’s a bit far from everything else central but I swear it’s worth the trip!

Pros: Kimchi dumplings , Korean atmosphere , Prices

Cons: Non English menu , Location far from everything tourist-y

Hidden GEMMMMM!!!! Kimchi dumplings that'll knock your socks off!

Great great GREAT Makguksu! This is a local spot - everything here is vegetarian and most things can be made vegan easily. The sign is RED! No english menu here's what you should get: but order the:
Chuncheon Makguksu (NO EGG) 막국수 (계란 넣지 마세요 - this says please don't put egg, you can just show them this)
and the Fried Kimchi Dumplings 김치 만두 튀김!!!
BEST dumplings ever. So plump and handmade!!!

HOW TO EAT:
Makguksu is famous for being versatile and you eat it however you want. They will give you guchujang (chilli sauce), vinegar, mustard and a kettle of cold broth. Add however much as you like of all the items. Generally, a little mustard and vinegar, a big dollop of chilli sauce and anything goes for the broth. Some people like to cover the noodles and eat it 'MUL' style.

Hidden gem

So far we had the best food during our time in Seoul in this restaurant. The cold noodles, fried dumplings and sides dishes have been amazing! The tofu stew was very decent. Everything was freshly prepared, the portions were large and prices affordable. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the concept of "veganism" is known at this vegetarian place. No English is spoken and the menu is Korean only.

Amazing mandu and noodles

This restaurant IS indeed fully vegetarian, so we enjoyed without hesitation 😄 It has traditional floor seating and the servers are very kind. You might have to wait during the busier hours aka lunchtime but it's worth it!

Pros: lots of vegan food, nice servers, great taste

Cons: might have to wait during lunchtime
