Fast, Amazing, Vegan - Edit
Went here two days in a row because it was so delicious. Completely vegan food. Concept is vegan versions of traditional fast food, except exceptionally delicious. Get the loaded waffle fries (queso, “bacon” bits). Had the “whopper” and the gyro, not excellent. Would consider traveling to Detroit just for this restaurant.

The absolute best burgers! CMB never disappoints. - Edit
I love 45 minutes west of Detroit. Anytime I am near the city or want a bomb burger Chili Mustard Onion is my choice. The Big Mock and The CMO King are better than the originals.

Sooooo good! - Edit
I finally got to try CMO and my friend (who’s not vegan) and I both loved it. We tried the coney dog, cheese fries, and the Big Mock. I loved all of it. I was surprised to like the burger as much as I did because I had the Beyond Meat patty at a restaurant in another city and didn’t care for it, but they prepared it much better here. I have no idea how they make the cheese fries but they are exactly like I remember them from when I was younger. Service was good overall but they did forget one of the items we ordered (but we weren’t charged for it and we were plenty full, so it wasn’t a big deal). I like the decor, but I wish there was more seating (and more parking, though there’s plenty of street parking for now too). Also, the dessert availability was low so we didn’t try any desserts this time, but I might try popping in just for that next time I’m in the area. The only thing I wasn’t a hug fan of is the plate the coney dog is served on. It’s cute, and it holds the dog upright, but I found it a bit difficult to cut the dog on and at one point I slipped up and dropped my chili covered knife onto my lap, but it’s fully possible I’m the only one with that issue, and most likely I’ll just ask for it to be served on the regular plate next time.

Love this place - Edit
Came here for lunch on a Friday. Was pretty busy but only had to wait 10 minutes. The food was amazing and such a great idea. There’s finally a vegan Coney Island in Detroit. Waitstaff was extremely friendly and food was delicious. Can’t wait to go back.

Take THAT National and Lafayette... - Edit
As a native Detroiter, I grew up eating coneys from both National and Lafayette. Haven't had a proper coney for 28 years now. A lot of other vegan restaurants throughout the US have "coneys", but they just aren't the same.
Read moreUntil now.
I have no idea how they're made, but the coneys here are just as I remember the meat containing ones. Same onion kick, same yellowish-brown napkin stains (LOL), same soft bun oozing with that not thick but not thin brown coney sauce. Only texture missing is the "pop" from the hot dog casing.
I gobbled that coney down, savoring every bite. Then ordered a dozen to go back with me on the plane. I shared the attached photo with my husband. His response was, "A VEGAN coney? No way!" Yes way!!
Pros: CONEYS! , Friendly staff, cool decor
Cons: 1,771 miles (one way) away from where I live

Update:
Read moreConeys survived the four hour plane trip in my luggage. CMO double-wrapped the boxes with plastic wrap. A bit smooshed (OK, a lot LOL), but still as tasty.

New favorite burgerplace! - Edit
They have an all vegan menu and it contains burgers and hotdogs! On the menu you can find burgers similar to what McDonalds (Big Mock) or Burger king have on their menu. So if you miss a burger from your former life as a meet-eater you'll love this place.

Finally! Vegan comfort food - Edit
Chili mustard onion gives you delicious vegan diner food. Everything is vegan. I love everything but (ironically) the chili. The cheese dip tastes just like dairy cheese. I have quite a few Omni friends who eat here on a regular basis just because they love and prefer it.

Amazing vegan food - Edit
I had the waffle fry nachos and my sister had the gyro and chili fries. Both were wonderful. I'm sure the several other options are great as well. Also had the Samoa (?) cake (coconut, caramel, fudge) and a sample of the soft serve vanilla ice cream, both exquisite. Nice that this place is walking distance to the pro sports stadiums/arena. We reserved parking on parkwhiz a few blocks away, walked here, and then walked to LCA. Good times.
Read morePayment, including the selection of the tip, was done on an iPad with the server right at your table. The option for a receipt was probably on the iPad but I didn't notice and they didn't offer. Not a fan of this process. Very minor issue.
Went on Thursday at 6 and the place was almost full, as there aren't a ton of seats. I can see it easily filling up on Fridays and Saturdays

Amazing Vegan Coney Island - Edit
A friend of mine kept raving about this Vegan Coney Island so we finally decided to try it and are glad we did.
Read moreNow...........This place isn’t perfect and does have its flaws. For one the parking lot only fits about 5 car and the inside is the size of my living room. The Inside being small isn’t a issue, as it is a coney Island after all, the issue is that the majority of the seats only seat two, so if you’re coming with a group of 4 good luck. We didn’t have to wait as the host sat us at a table of 2, and pulled up a chair so we were fine and aren’t that picky anyway.
But the food was GOOD! With any type of processed vegan food, it’s always hit or miss with me, but CMO is doing it right. We all ordered the exact same thing: the chili cheese coney dog with chili cheese fries. Surprisingly, All of the food tasted exactly like the real thing! We also we ordered the Pumpkin Brownie cake (which I waskeptical of) and it tasted so good. I think there’s some coconut in the cake as well.
After weighting the pros and cons, the good really does outweigh the bad. Next time I visit here I went to try the Big Mock!
Pros: Lots of Vegan Options, Tasty food
Cons: Small parking lot, Not many tables

I absolutely love this place. Cute vibe, great staff. But the food was fantastic. I haven't had a big mac in so many years, and this one exceeded expectations. The loaded waffle fries were amazing too. Glad I'm in town long enough to go back again.

CMO is flawless. MI needs more places like it. Had the Big Mock (Beyond burger) with loaded waffle fries and pumpkin spice soft serve. Super yummy! I appreciate that the preparation was more than just slapping the burger on the bun. They weren’t cutting corners. It was the diner food of my dreams. Reminiscent of Chicago Diner and Champs.

Yummy coney with a homey feel! - Edit
Native Detroiter who is now grown up vegan foodie loves the nostalgia of CMO. I loved Friday nights at Coney growing up and will always have a soft spot for chili cheese fries! The food and deserts are pretty incredible, I recommend everything on the menu. The vegan bumpy cake and bread pudding had me 😍😍😍

Sanders-like bumpy cake? Darn... wasn't one of the cakes available when I went last week. Would have paid a small fortune for a slice of that.
