In short - a pretty unique restaurant for vegan food. We are from out of town but plan to visit again next time we're in the state.
Further-
Service was about what you'd expect at a restaurant. It was neither bad, nor exceptional. The staff was friendly and attentive.
Quality wise the food was mostly good, though some not so much. I got the Big Mock which is CMO's replica of the Big Mac. Now, I don't like Big Macs, but i LOVE trying burgers at restaurants so I gave it a try. I have to say that the flavor and everything was spot on. I didn't like it personally but I'm not marking down for that (i'd give it 5/5 by itself). If you liked Big Macs then you could have one here and love it! I'm marking Quality down because the CMO dogs were...medicore. I'd probably rate them 2/5. The vegan protein used just was terrible. We also had the Gyro and loaded fries, both of which were great so overall I think we had a mostly positive experience here, and just disappointed with the CMO dogs (and I should just know better when buying a Big Mock when I don't like Big Macs). I do wish that they had their own traditional style burger here. As of Nov 2019 they only had the Big Mock and the CMO King (replica of Burger King's whopper which i didn't try). I also wish that the vegan hot dogs used tasted better. I've had a good handful of vegan hotdogs and this was definitely towards the bottom of the list, which is disappointing considering the name of the restaurant is Chili Mustard Onions implying that they have good coney style hot dogs.
Value wise, this was about what you'd expect. Price was reasonable, and portion sizes were about what you'd expect. I do think the appetizer loaded fries was a bit on the small end of things, but entrees were reasonably portioned.
Vegan options is 5/5 because the whole restaurant is vegan. LOVE that.

Love this place! Get there asap before they close and get one of everything lol!! Big Mock is classic and I loved the gyro. Do yourself a favor and get the loaded waffle fries.

Closest thing to a hani - Edit
A couple friends took us here when we were in town because I had been saying “I wish somewhere made a vegan version of a Hani from National”. This place DELIVERED. I ordered the Brush Park wrap and cheese fries and was not disappointed. My friend got the Chick-un parm which was also delicious. Would definitely go back again.

This place was amazing. We got the chili dog and the gyro and both were so good. We had questions about food allergies and the staff were very good about knowing the ingredients and where we might have any cross contamination concerns etc. they even made sure to wipe down everything before putting our food together.

This place is the BEST!!! - Edit
I had The Spicy Pepper-nell and loaded waffle fries minus the cheese sauce, (vegan sour cream and bacon bits topped with plenty of green onions) and it was one of the best vegan meals I’ve had! Great service and relaxed atmosphere, too.. a neighboring table suggested trying their chocolate desserts, but they were sold out! I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in Detroit!

I came home to visit just to try this restaurant, I did a review and my mouth still waters when I watch it. Being a Detroiter the coney dog is a stable and they did us vegans proud. I would suggest the coney dogs and you won't be disappointed!

Best vegan food in the Midwest! - Edit
The food isn’t healthy, but it will satisfy any craving for junky omni restaurant food! I’ve eaten here many times over the years and typically get the Brush Park (chicken pita) with loaded fries, though the Big Mock and chicken Parmesan sub are also incredible! The chili is ironically my least favorite thing on the menu, but it’s still good. They also carry desserts from a local vegan bakery.

This place opened after I moved to Florida from Detroit which is a shame because this place is so good. I stopped in a couple years back and had their Big Mock and I’ve never forgotten it. The chili cheese fries were great as well. I will definitely stop back in when I visit home.

this was actually the best food i have ever had in my life. i got the big mock and my partner got two CMO dogs. my burger smelled like a super classy big mac and was the most delicious burger i’ve ever had. it came with fries, which we dipped in the extra chili from the coneys and it was so amazing. the chili dogs were smoky and just truly incredible. best coney dogs in detroit by far AND they’re vegan! would have taken a picture but it was too delicious and we ate it all immediately

Was in Detroit visiting family and found this place. My husband is from Detroit and hasn’t been able to have a Coney Island dog since he became vegan at 12! This place did not disappoint. We had the loaded fries, Coney Island dogs, chikn parm sandwich and burger meals for the kids! Will definitely be back next time we come to Detroit ❤️🌱

We live an hour outside the city and this place has been on our list for over a year. Finally made it happen today. WOW. Big Mock with chili cheese fries and a good old hometown Vernors ginger ale. It was fantastic. Not cheap, but totally satisfied my fast food cravings. Yes, it's not hardcore vegan health food, but boy is it good. Bonus: GF buns all the way from Washington state are incredible as well.
