Yum 😋

Went for my birthday dinner Aug ‘22 (forgot to post). Important to book ahead and advise of dietary requirements, will cater to specifically what you eat. If you’re only dairy free then they will include egg (this is because they try to use ingredients as close to the original dish as they can) if you ask vegan, will be totally vegan. Although quite pricey, upon request, was even able to vegan wine pair (not necessarily matched with each dish). Can also cater to gluten free, ensure to note dietary needs when making booking and booking best made before day of.

Good vegan posh nosh in the country

Good vegan dego option with a seasonal menu - primarily locally sourced. Well-paired local wines. Easy online booking system.
Currently due to covid they're not doing à la carte but you're going there for the dego anyway.
Extensive list of drinks too - wines and everything else.

Fantastic Vegan Degustation and GF (but check)

We had a fantastic dinner here. It’s a busy place so you should book for a Friday or Saturday night particularly.

I enquired ahead and booked for the vegan degustation menu, we weren’t the only ones having it (another 2 tables we saw) though so not sure if you can just rock up and have it… maybe. I would book to be sure

7:15pm booking left a bit after 11:00pm so a wonderful slow meal, lots of chatting and some of us had matching wines or vegan cocktails.

Great tasting food, well thought out, well presented, specific menu card for the meal. It was all good but I particularly liked the King Mushroom dish and the corn dish was a close second. Aesthetic as well as flavour detail went into this meal, it was very good.

We had Gluten Free as well as one member of the party is GF. Everything for the most part is GF anyway if my memory serves except he pizza dough balls and they bought special GF ones of those that tasted pretty much th same to me (I had a taste in the name of being able to be partial in reporting).

Our waitress was also lovely, she was vegan for a considerable period of time, very knowledgeable, explained the dishes, the wines and also gave us space to enjoy the meal and chat away as we ate.

Plenty of staff, great wine selection, sommelier on duty. Good, rustic yet modern decor, maybe American steakhouse chic? Outdoor seating might be nice on a warm night.

This is a degustation too remember so portions aren’t large but spaced out over time. I’m a big guy and I was ok, could I have eaten more, sure, but I was certainly satiated and happy. I didn’t need to eat when I got home.

Orange is a lovely town, with beautiful architecture, you could certainly make a weekend of it and include this place.

You don’t get better vegan food than this

I’ve eaten vegan food all over the world and it doesn’t get better than Charred Kitchen’s 4-course vegan degustation dinner with the option of matching wines from the region. We had the vegan degustation a few months ago, and the second time, the food served was completely different, but as good as, the first time. I can only rave.

Pros: 4-course vegan degustation dinner available

Cons: Expensive

Dedicated Vegetarian Menu

Glad to see they have a dedicated Vegetarian Menu. $90 per head minimum then deserts are $15 on top of that. The venue was full on Tuesday when we went.

I'm not into fine dining, but their beetroot, cheese entree was beautifully balanced. Desert was nice as well, but I don't remember much about the other items. The risotto tasted weird & too salty.

Pros: Venue looks good.

Cons: Mostly for people who drink & love wine
