Reliable - Edit
Great to have a place serving all vegan food. This could the best and safest choice in Orange.
Read moreChinese Buddhist vegetarian - it does exactly what it says on the tin.
You could also go there just to enjoy a wide range of teas.
A good selection of dishes inspired by various cuisines from Taiwan and China, done in a vegan way.
Not everything comes as a plate of food swimming in watery goop, but admittedly many items do. That said, the goop is quite tasty.
As is the way of Chinese home cooking, you get a good balanced meal by ordering different dishes, as usually you won’t get a complete mix of veggies and protein on one plate. The more people you’re with the better, so for eg you can order a plate of protein, a plate of greens, and a plate based on mushrooms. And share!

A great find in a regional centre - Edit
So what a great find in country NSW. I was pretty pleased with this restaurant.
Read moreIt is not stunning, ground breaking, food, but it is very reliable, certainly served with love and the biggest range of choices you are going to find in Orange. My review is based on takeaway as I was passing through but will be eating in a few months.
Decor is as one would expect of any Chinese/Asian restaurant that is a bit dated or old school. If you’re not going for the Decor then it’s more than fine.
Family run, very helpful, quite an extensive menu, big focus on meat substitutes, be they tofu, shredded bean curd skins, bean curd skin knots, gluten etc. lots of products from the Lamyong range.
I saw a big plate of sizzling kebabs go out to a table while I waited for my order that I will get when zip go back and dine in.
Our dishes were all good. Top points go to the Crispy Mushroom Strips, these we’re great, crunch, chewy, great sauce, that is a winner entree’. I’ve had the mushroom batons before and these were also very good, a mushroom mix moulded onto pieces of sugar cane that you eat off and then chew the sugar cane.
The fried bean noodles are good had them twice now. Hot and spicy tofu was ok, but not great, it was tofu in some frozen vegetables with a background kick. Bodhi Garden Cabbage rolls were good, big serve and the cabbage rolls are hidden under the supporting elements of the dish. Layered bean curd skins Tom Yum style was good, mixed stir fry with cashew nuts was quite good as well, plenty of cashews.
I will go here again and not just cause it is the only choice. Lots of things to try so it would take a while to get bored. Great to have a regional go to when you’re out and about other than just chips.

Good vegan options in Orange - Edit
Nicely presented restaurant which seems to focus on Taiwanese based foods. Plenty of different options and a big range of teas. Food took a while to all come out to the table so it meant we were nearly full when the spicy tofu arrived. Plus the restaurant was not too busy. But the food was great and staff friendly.

One of the few vegan places in town to eat. - Edit
Wide variety of dishes available and it tasted great. Stark atmosphere but functional in a town that has very few options for Vegans.

Surprising - Edit
We ordered takeaway so I can only comment on the food. Ordered via MenuLog, the food came quickly. We ordered the mixed entree which had some interesting dishes including a sushi, salted cashews and soy protein slice. It was nice. We had Gow Chi (wheat dumplings) which was tasty but could have been served with more of the homemade soy sauce and possibly chilli. The fried rice was delightful.

Pretty much everything on the menu can be changed to vegan, really tasty food. the sweet corn soup was amazing, just like chicken and sweet corn soup from the uk. Only bad thing was it was a little salty and the toilets was not very nice. However it was cheap and BYO 👍🏻

Great chinese food - Edit
Had a great meal at Bodhi Garden, extensive choice of original dishes. We had the mushroom balls in sweet and sour sauce (it came with capsicums and pineapple), the Bodhi Garden vegetables (also had delicious mushrooms feet and a bit of fried tofu), 3 servings of rice and a sort of sweet potato mushroom bun as an entree. Felt really good after the meal, not overly salty and they don't use msg if that's sth you care about. Total was $39, excellent value for money! I just wish they were open on Sundays so I could have gone again the next day.

This place is my life line! Eating out in Orange was an absolute nightmare until I found this cute, warm and inviting restaurant. The food is to die for and 95% vegan. My partner (Animal eater) and I BOTH love to eat here at least once a fortnight, we've become regulars and we have been and continue to be treated with so much kindness and respect since the day we walked in.

Good Chinese vegetarian in the country - Edit
This place had an extensive tea Manu with about 3 pages of every green and herbal tea you can imagine. The decor is fine/ average but as you'd expect from a country Chinese restaurant, jeans and tshirt style. The food menu is quite long ranging from dumpling, Chinese buns, gluten style chicken and roast dishes, Chinese and Thai style stir drys and hot pots. We ordered some oolong tea, dumplings, roast gluten, and hot and spicy tofu hot pot. They were all really tasty and very large serving sizes. We even had some brown rice and beans (wasn't on menu but made for us as we asked for brown rice). the hot pot had a variey of unique Asian mushrooms. The bill was about $35 so quite reasonable. This place is comparable to a green gourmet (newtown) and I was pleasantly suprised to get Vegie food so good in the country.
