Wonderful!

We had such a unique and delicious meal here - thank you! It's a treasure tucked away near Sintra, not primarily a restaurant but serving up organic home cooked vegan food (even home-made tofu.) It's great value for money, and the service was so friendly and professional. We will definitely remember our experience here and are inspired to cook new things. Good to call in advance.

Pros: Cosy and homely, Delicious food , Unique

Lovely place

A senhora Isaura é a mestra culinária e espiritual.

A magical experience

We did not make a reservation but walked up for lunch today on recommendation of our hosts at Colina Flora. Isuara welcomes us and made us feel at home. There were rescued cats/kittens which were a pleasure to see looked after. The ambience was so homely and relaxed. We had a 4 course lunch which was truly cooked from the heart, really delicious and ample. Home made kombucha was a real treat. Who would want to go to a restaurant when you can have real hospitality and amazing home cooked food like this supporting this association?

Pros: Organic, Home made kombucha, Out of this world hospitality

Travelling Portugal/Colares-Sintra

Beautiful & peacefull place recommended by our hosts (Colina Flora-Veggie guesthouse in Colares). Varied daily menu served by a so nice woman, very smiling. Situated in his green area, with his own vegetable garden. Very good food, low price. I definitely recommend this nice vegan place, with a very good quality food, his ambience, animals, and staff.

Pros: Low price, daily menu, green area

An Incredible Experience

Isaura and her team are together creating some really delicous, organic, wholesome vegan food. The 4-course lunch menu is 15 euro and well worth it. Their homemade kombucha is stellar and Isaura is more than happy to let you get seconds of anything on the menu until you're full :)

I can't wait to be back in the future!

Pros: Vegan, Run by amazing people, Supporting a good cause

Great food. Great experience

Great vegan food! The empada was delicious - the most delicious empada I’ve ever eaten!!! Decent 4 course meal with tea/coffee included. I adored the heavenly homemade dessert - it was a delicious apple muffin (it doesn’t sound like much but it was the perfect size to end a large meal. Did I mention delicious). The service was amazing. The people were very friendly. It’s a very organic/rustic/earthly home, don’t expect a modern chic restaurant. The cuisine is vegan (obviously) but also Portuguese and traditional. It’s a great experience. The people are great. A little over priced. It was 17.50. I think 10-15 euros would be more appropriate.

Pros: Great service - exceptionally friendly, Great food, Traditional Portuguese cuisine

Cons: Overpriced

Dear Rebekah,
Five months have passed since my first answer. In that moment I didn´t have enough time to write longer ( too busy-summer-time). Now in winter, with less movement, I can complete my answer about our prices.
Thanks again for your feed-back, which helps us to make clear this important aspect.
Since we started this project (2010) we try to practice realistic prices. Facing big challenges as to keep it affordable for all but and at the same time to keep the quality.
One of our goals, as an association, is to contribute to create a "new food awareness " so we organise some activities as organic gardening, organic-vegan-workshops, and others wellness activities.
We think is so important to spread the message to chose organic food, to support organic farmers, to support local producers. Our goal is not only to serve yummy dishes, but at the same time make them for enhance vitality and immunity. Our mission is to create consciousness and care for the body, the planet and the animals. Our activities have educational porpoises, and this implies amounts of dedication, energy and money.
Our cookery is all home made, artisan kind, and take much more time than the conventional. We have our own production of veggies, long-term-fermentaion-bread, the pastries, the cakes, the empadas, kombucha, sauces, pickles, and other fermented food, etc. We use special ingredients like organic cereal (all of them), organic pasta, sea-weeds, coffee, or teas, we use only spelt organic flour (we stopped to use "normal" gmo wheat), all the veggies we use are fresh from our garden or small-organic-farmer production from our neighbourhood, not supermarket-veggies or frozen ingredients. And some of them are really gourmet. :)
Yes, comparing with "normal" vegetarian or vegan restaurant maybe looks "over priced". Yes we choose organic, and this makes a big difference. Unfortunately in Portugal organic food is still more expensive. Hope the future be more "green" for all and in all senses! Again, gratitude for your visit and your review.

Delicious home-cooked organic vegan foods

This is not a primarily a restaurant but a place where you can follow classes and do workshops, but please read on.

They prefer that you call in advance so they can make sure there is enough (since they don't like wasting food). You can also just stop by and ask if they can make you something if they have something.

You definitely needs to stop by and eat here, you won't be disappointed! Everything is vegan and from locally produced organic sources.

We also followed a yoga class and attended a singing bowl concert. Very special.

Wondeful people and wonderful place to go and enjoy the food!

Pros: Vegan only, organic, from local sources. Inexpensi

Corny but this place is something special.. kinda soul touching

I had 4 courses. Every course was fresh and appetising. If you feel like more of any part of the meals you can just ask for more.

The experience was like eating vegan at a traditional Portuguese family home. The lady of the house is an amazing host, who does it all out of love for the vegan lifestyle.

Pros: Warm and homely, Variety of wholesome, fresh, nutritious food, Organic straight from the properties garden

Cons: Easy to miss it’s location! Keep your eyes open, i

Highly recommend

My sister and I went here for dinner during our stay by Praia Grande. We found it pretty easily and weren't quite sure what to expect when we arrived but it was better than anything we could have imagined.
The interior was very cozy and homely, like stepping into someone's living room. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the food was amazing. The hostess was so sweet and lovely and we felt welcome at once.
To start us off we got a whole pitcher of homemade kombucha. The dinner that day started with a lentil dip and bread, followed by vegetable soup (made with vegetables from her own garden). Then, as a main course, we had basmati rice with tofu rolled in seaweed and vegetables. For dessert we had a brown rice cream with coconut milk along with some digestive herbal tea.
The whole meal was enough for us but the hostess told us that if we wanted any more of the food she served, we could just ask, which was very nice.
We would both recommended this place to anyone coming to the Sintra coast, it is well worth the trip!

Pros: Cosy, good food, inexpensive, completely vegan, ho

great food and atmosphere

Went there in August 2016. Even though the address was hard to find for our navigation, when we arrived we got a warm welcome in a charming little place (they even offered some other customers to crash there) as well as a four course menu with delicious Peruvian food and homemade kombucha! We were also allowed to drink our own red wine as they don't offer any alcohol. My non-vegan friends agreed that this was the best food we had on our trip through Portugal ;)

Pros: delicious Peruvian food, friendly staff, homely atmosphere

Cons: address hard to find for navigation

Great food, great value for money,

We had lunch here in May 2017, the food was tasty decent size portions and we'll presented.
The owner was lovely and the surroundings were simply furnished and very homely.
Lunch consisted of:
Houmous and bread.
Pumpkin and cauliflower soup.
Tofu curry with rice.
Chocolate and Carob cake.
Fermented apple juice
Tea or coffee
It was nice to be the only tourists there, meeting the locals celebrating a birthday and families enjoying locally sourced food.

Pros: Inexpensive , Tasty, Friendly

Cons: None

Vegan restaurant, home cooked / Restaurant vegan cuisine maison

This little restaurant is really cosy and zen. The quality is excellent regarding the price (only 15EUR for a complete menu).
There is only one menu choice, but everything is home cooked with fresh foods and 100% vegan,

It's require to book in advance. The restaurant doesn't propose any alcohol (you can bring your own vine bottle), but they propose a home made very good Kombucha.

Pros: Fresh food, Completely vegan, Zen

Cons: Need to book in advance

Warm atmosphere

I disagree with previous reviewer about the price. I think £15 for 3.5 course meal is VERY generous and you leave the place stuffed and very happy. The owner is very kind lady that creates a warm and homey atmosphere. The food is delicious and always different makes you want to come back more often.

Pros: New menu every time, Cheap, Sirene location

Cons: Would be nice if they run more workshops in ENgli
