Not good. - Edit
Nachos came out 1.5 hours after ordering to have regular cheese on them. We had a few bites before realising. Too late my friend vomited a few hours later as she’s lactose intolerant. They then served us hamburgers as they had no dairy free cheese, only to come out on mouldy bread!! Terrible! Avoid !

DO NOT GO HERE - Edit
Soooo many vegan options, we order a nachos and island fries with vegan cheesy topping. Came out and we were like hm looks like normal cheese, take it to the chefs, yes thats normal cheese we dont have vegan cheese - ok why is it on the menu??? Fight between wait staff and chefs ensued- chef offered us vegan burgers with no cheese, ok i ate most of it and was like geez this bun is so dry but thinking oh well im starving, almost done my friend says... your bun is mouldy ? Noticed it was all mouldy and i had eaten 90% of it so i am absolutely fuming just waiting to get sick tonight and ruin my holiday. What a disaster

Terrible service, no vegan options available - Edit
Call before hand to see if they even have the vegan food they advertise in their menu. They had no dairy free cheese, no dairy free pizza bases, and no nacho chips at all. We ordered the vegetable tempura and Pad Thai but after waiting an hour they told us it would be about half an hour to 45 mins wait. Our server was really not polite at all. Do not recommend sorry.

OK food, cool setting - Edit
Clearly labelled vegan options which was nice, they do have vegan cheese and desserts. You can sit outside on the deck right over the lagoon and watch the fish swimming below! I had the vegan burger which was a bit average but options in Raro aren't great 🤷 service was lovely

Good vegan options - Edit
Came here for dinner and to use the pool. They had a few good vegan options, I loved the vegan burger and the coconut salad! They happily made their garlic bread vegan for us too. Lovely staff. As a group of three vegans, we came back twice. I highly recommend them!

Terrible food terrible service - Edit
They didn’t have vegan cheese which meant no pizza or burger.. after waiting an hour for our food they gave us the wrong thing (I asked for the burger and said no cheese is okay, but they made an awful looking cheese less pizza instead- I got this refunded). The “tofu coconut salad” was uncooked tofu with basic salad vegetables. Even though it was labelled as vegan I’m not entirely convinced the sauce was. It was disgusting and for $25. Service was horrible too

At least they had some vegan options - Edit
Not many places with vegan options in Rarotonga so grateful there was somewhere we could go on our last day for lunch. They did have them clearly labelled on their website menu. But half the options were not available sadly.
Read moreI got the Thai noodle salad, with tofu as an extra. I do not recommend this dish. It was basically some noodles and veg with a bottled Thai sweet sauce on it. Yuck. The tofu was raw and not at all nice.
The burger was fine as were the loaded fries.
I got the virgin pina colada - this was straight coconut milk with perhaps a little pineapple juice. We could not drink it.
The island fries were good and came with sauces.
It is a busy place with a lot of tourists so I guess they are doing their best. We were very glad we self catered for our trip so it was ok for our one meal out.
The location is lovely - you sit looking out over the ocean. There is a swimming beach which is excellent, plus pools which we were told, when we asked, we could swim in if we were dining there.
Pros: They do have some vegan options, Lovely location
Cons: Thai noodle salad

Plenty of vegan options - Edit
Plenty of vegan options on the menu but unfortunately not all were available when I went there. Burger was yummy and the Thai salad was good. There isn’t really table service as you order at the bar and pick up your meals from the kitchen which I found odd. Overall the meals were good.

Great burger, unexpected! - Edit
I didn't think I'd find a really good vegan burger on the island. The "island fries" were great too. Came with vegan mayo - recommend!!!
