Excellent breakfast - Edit
First time I’ve been to a Lounges outside of Warrington. Same quality vegan breakfast - again took the large option and couldn’t finish it. Nice service. Could see good beer selection on tap but couldn’t indulge being 10am and all…

Great atmosphere and vibe - Edit
Every time I drove past Calico I kept thinking I need to try it out, and finally did last weekend.
Read moreIt's nice that they have a completely separate vegan menu so straight away you can be sure that everything you are ordering (even the carrot cake :p) is vegan which avoids the awkward "is that vegan, is this vegan, what about that' convo that inevitably happens at every non vegan restaurant and if you are out with non vegan friends you can skip the eye rolling and "oh here he goes again" banter that is also inevitable with every restaurant outing.
The atmosphere and vibe is very chilled and trendy. A well stocked bar, and obviously a great location to head straight into town if you wanted to or pre/post cinema meal. There is a load of toys and games in the corner as you walk in which I thought was a nice touch if you have kids, you can just let them run riot . . . . . so if you don't have kids maybe sit away from the entrance as there will be screaming kids running around throwing lego at each other until their Mum comes over and debriefs them haha (I learnt this the hard way).
You order at the bar or via the App so not much service required but we did have someone come over and ask if everything was ok, and the interaction with staff at the bar when I ordered was very pleasant and friendly.
The food tasted great, I got the Vegan Mexican Superbowl which is like an assortment of different bits and bobs, kind of like a Mexican tapas all on one plate. Portion size was good. My Mum got the beyond cheese burger which was also good if you want a bit of junk food and the sorbet and carrot cake was also very tasty.
So all in all a great little restaurant if you wanted to meet up with either vegan or non vegan friends. 4 main meal vegan options and loads of breakfast options. Hopefully if we support the vegan menu they may offer even more as after a few visits I would probably get bored of just the choice of 4 but for a non vegan restaurant I was pretty impressed.
Pros: Completely separate vegan menu, Nice atmosphere, A few vegan options for every meal
Cons: Could have 1 or 2 more vegan main meal options
