Hidden Gem - Edit
We were on our way back to Chicago and searched for vegan options which lead us here. This restaurant had a great feel. We knew right away we wanted to enjoy their patio where you could hear trickling water from the water features. We ordered the two vegan options and devoured everything! The mango curry one was my favorite! I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

How did I miss this? - Edit
In a part of the world with few elegant vegan options, this place has them. The menu is Middle East/Mediterranean/Persian focussed. Not a lot of pure vegan dishes, but those they have are well thought out and really good. Staff is very friendly. There is outdoor dining space. Worth driving down from the St. Joe area for. I’ve been driving by it on I-94 for years and never noticed.

Fresh and Healthy - Edit
They have several vegan options, and most of them have generous amounts of fresh veggies. Their food is very flavorful too.

SO GREAT - Edit
This is a real gem. Our first time trying Kurdish cuisine. The restaurant is tucked away in a quiet green space with some of THE MOST delicious Mediterranean food we’ve ever had. Definitely the highlight meal for us in this area. There is a ‘vegan and vegetarian menu’ with a few choices.
Read moreI ordered the “ispanak” which was absolutely DIVINE. It’s a plate of crispy falafel patties topped with this incredible mango-curry-walnut sauce and a side of basmati rice. I could just drink a bowl of that sauce alone!!🤤 Anyway, you must get it.. and go here.. 🫶🏼
Pros: Beautiful patio space with greenery around 🌿 , Friendly, kind, vegan-aware staff

Made my day 😄 - Edit
I ordered a vegan dish called "Ispanak" with an extra sauce on the side: Apricot-Sesame Chutney (just because the name intrigued me) for carry out. The meal was delicious and made my day!
Read more(My husband and I went to Cafe Gulistan mid of October '22 - at that point the restaurant was not on Happy Cow yet - but I ever so thrilled to find a vegan dish. Just now I came upon my old receipt, which reminded me to check - and here it is 😄
4 stars because the restaurant is not fully vegan - I was advised by the Happy Cow - good to know.
