Our go-to spot for Thai curry - Edit
We have tried many Thai restaurants and Busaba is the best in the area when it comes to curry. Not all of them are vegan, but the menu shows which ones are. The noodle dishes aren’t bad either, but be prepared to wait! They only have a few woks to make noodle dishes so peak dinner time pickup could mean an hour wait vs a curry which is usually ready in 10min.

Underwhelming - Edit
My daughter’s pad Thai was “ok.” My wife and my entrees were bland, uninspiring. Maybe the curries are better? We didn’t order Curry this time (I ordered the tofu entree) like we usually do. Probably one of the worst Thai experiences we’ve ever had. Server was nice, service was good, atmosphere good. Just disappointing.
Read moreIt wasn’t terrible. But it just wasn’t great…or even good. Just boring, bland, didn’t even finish our entrees or take leftovers…which is rare.

Excellent vegan options. Owners and staff very kind and knowledgable about vegan Thai cooking. Vegan vs vegetarian not clear on the menu in all cases, but the staff know.

Delectable Thai on the McCaslin Strip - Edit
After three times trying this place from dine-in to take-out, I’m happy to sing its praises.
This time they were unfortunately out of the necessary ingredients for the Three Flavor tofu, which I wanted and still want to try. But the Massaman curry, medium spiciness, was a worthy substitute with fresh snappy veggies, complex coconut broth, and generously apportioned peanuts. It also didn’t overdo the potatoes that tend to be a feature of yellowy-tinted curries.
Next time I will upgrade my rice to the most forbidden rice available (I’m not an oxymoron, you’re an oxymoron!)
Busaba anchors the north end of what I think of as the McCaslin Strip - a half-mile span of business district generously speckled with diverse vegan options at establishments including: The Organic Sandwich Company, Tibet’s Restaurant and Bar, Chipotle, Hummus Republic, Bawarchi Biryanis, Murphy’s Tap House, Mod Pizza, and Hana Japanese Bistro, to name a few.

Love the Food - Edit
The food is excellent but there a reonly one or two curry dish that are vegan - the others have fish sauce. Since I'm not a fan of tofu, the staff is always willing to sub in potatoes or pumpkin. All the flavors are refined and fresh.

Best Vegan Thai Food! - Edit
The best vegan Thai food in the area! There are a surprising amount of vegan options, which are clearly labeled, and the staff is well educated on what vegan means. The food is delicious and always tastes fresh. They have the option of adding either soft or fried tofu to almost every entree for your protein choice. The pad sew ew, garlic pepper tofu, and basil fried rice are our go-tos!

No thanks - Edit
Ordered online, and received a pickup time of 2 1/2 hours later. Tried to call and cancel, but it was busy for 10+ minutes. Decided to go over, and they told me the vegetable dish was why the order was taking so long. Rather that go somewhere else, I decided to take the only two vegan dishes she recommended. Basically, we had two curries that consisted of potatoes, carrots, and bamboo shoots. Meh...If you like to eat plants, go elsewhere.

Yum!! - Edit
This place has great food - lots of vegan options are available which are clearly marked. They have organic tofu and brown rice! My husband and I split the Summer Rolls - filled with mixed greens and other veggies - we added tofu. I had the Vegetable Bliss with Brown Rice ....enough said - pure bliss. My husband had the Yellow Curry with Brown rice - Excellent. We both added the organic tofu!! There is a long line to get in if you don’t get there for dinner by 6:00. It can be a hassle but that just shows you how good it is!! Go!!!

excellent Thai - Edit
The food is good, fresh, and there are lots of veg/vegan options. Also, the owner thinks she knows better than you do how spicy you want your meal -- and she is right! I wish Busaba was in downtown Louisville, which really needs more veg options.

Thai - style spicy yumminess - Edit
If you can arrive EARLY for lunch or dinner then it's a relaxed, happy place to eat. Don't make the mistake of going at 'peak eating times' because everyone else knows it's a great place to eat! My favorite is their eggplant dish - it has a depth of flavor that reminds me of steak (vegan 7 yrs)! Crisp, flavorful veggies, clear vegan options, delicious sauces and good curry and rice dishes that can be made mild to Thai-hot at your request. Staff very accommodating for vegans. Enjoy the green tea here particularly.

There was a wait when we got there and a wait when we left. Great place for when you're with someone who doesn't eat the same as you.

Great decor and service. It seemed a bit slow, but that could have been because it was packed on a Saturday night and we were both starving!
It needs more great reviews on Happy Cow! Google gives it 4.8*s I think.
This is a place I will recommend and be a repeat customer.
