Delicious Vegan Thai - Edit
Casual local spot serving excellent vegan Thai food with optional egg additions for vegetarians. The starters were fantastic. The hot wings are the best version of plant based chicken I've had. Same for the veggie rolls with addictive peanut sauce. Prid King with "steak" was very good. Gren beans perfectly al dente. The pad see yew was ok but not the best I've had. Definitely going back to try more dishes.

Makes being vegan easy - Edit
Love this place. Discovered it by accident when I needed takeout and was instantly converted. Large menu full of vegan dishes (and a few vegetarian) all of which are delicious (that I’ve had).
Read moreIt’s probably closest to like a really really good version of your local takeaway rather than some super fancy places, but it hits the spot perfectly and I now go all the time.
Eating in is nice too. Small cute little place and the servers are lovely. Not too expensive either.
Pros: Delicious , Large menu, all of which is good , Quick and not too expensive
Cons: A few vegetarian dishes (not 100% vegan), Would love to be able to get an alcohol free beer

I found out about this place later than I wish I had. I love the phad kee mao, corn fritters, dumplings, roti bread, and a few other items. I never got to dine in, but was grateful for delivery.

Go-to neighborhood spot - Edit
When I lived in Los Feliz, I ordered takeout from Bulan at least 1x a week. Grilled dumplings, spring rolls, pad kee mow, and rad nah. Sometimes would mix it up with Pad Woon Sen or one of their specials. They have various vegan meat options, or can do with tofu, and they all taste excellent. The ladies working we’re always lovely and the food was excellent, though occasionally a little too spicy - I like spice but started asking for “mild” because “medium” seemingly depended on whoever was doing the cooking.

Pros: Excellent food, Friendly service, Best vegan spring rolls in LA

Our most ordered delivery spot - Edit
Bulan Thai is an absolute gem. They have a ton of menu items to choose from, from orange chick'n to drunken noodles to jungle curry. I recommend branching out from your usual order here and trying some of their more niche dishes. They're all fantastic. Their prices are extremely reasonable too.

I found the food to be very bland unfortunately. Their appetizers were pretty good. I would skip this for somewhere else next time.

Their food is so delicious. I usually order the Mushroom Tom Kha and Papaya salad. Some other dishes I love are the veggie spring rolls and eggplant dishes! Also, coconut water is so good here! It's also a cute little place!

amazing Thai! - Edit
I'm very picky when it comes to Thai food. Most restaurants are subpar in my opinion. I was very pleasantly surprised by Bulan. We had a big group and was able to do family style and tried a lot. Everything was delicious!! I loved the hot wings, ginger a mok, inferno chicken, spicy fried rice, and red curry were all phenomenal. Very happy with this place!

Healthy and tasty food - Edit
I had a delicious plate with vegetables, fake chicken and brown rice. The vegetables were really well cooked, and there was so much in the plate that I had to ask a box for the leftovers.
Read moreMy friend started with the spring rolls, which were disappointed as they weren't really tasty, and very small for the price ($7).
The service was good, but maybe too considerate : my friend and I couldn't spend 5mn on a conversation without the waitresses asking us how it was going. Anyway, it's better than a bad service.
Pros: Tasty food, Nice atmosphere
Cons: Expensive starters, Service too considerate

Authentic Thai - Edit
We used to go to the Melrose location, but this is closer now that we moved. I have enjoyed both locations, but this one seems less busy. This is all Thai, not like the other Thai American places around LA. The Crisp Fish with Green Apple is a must. We always get that and then try another new dish. My semi-veggie friend who comes along with us likes really hot Thai food. I mean really hot. We tell the waitress that and sometimes it's not hot enough for her, but most people don't believe my friend anyways when she tells them that as she doesn't look like she can handle it! I get the Thai Iced Tea and always have to remember to say soy milk. I would love it if the place was all vegan even though everything is clearly marked and most of it is vegan.

dry and bland - Edit
This Bulan Thai is not the best. I started with the Fresh Rolls. The sauce was mild and did not have the right mix of spices. For entree, I ordered Pad Thai with Tofu. The tofu was completely dry and tasteless, as well as the actual noodles. It tasted like rubber. I won't be going back for more. As for location, there is street parking in the afternoon, but I would not recomment coming here on a weekend night as there is no parking due to the number of bars in the area.
