A neighborhood natural food and grocery market. Stocks a range of nutritional supplements, organic produce, bulk bins, and eco-friendly household cleaning products. Open Mon-Sun 8:00am-9:00pm.
I live here (both literally and figuratively) and I am so lucky this store is in my neighborhood. This is one of the few places in the Castro you can get healthy, organic, vegan food. The produce selection is great and they have an assortment of wraps, salads, energy bars, dips, salsas, drinks, and desserts for vegans (gluten free vegan cookies? Yep. They have those!). They carry vegan cheese, vegan ice cream, vegan yogurt, tons of vegan crackers and chips, and plenty of things I'm forgetting. Stop by here. It's great.
This little place was great. They manage to do better prices than the local Wholefoods although they obviously don't have anywhere near the buying power. They also have a better selection of refrigerated and frozen vegan items than the Wholefoods does. Which is pretty impressive given they are about one twentieth of the size! The service was also friendly and the location is good. There's a chair outside to enjoy your snacks. If I was a local, I'd certainly shop here.
This market is located right in the Castro District. Found it while walking in the area, October 2012. Outside it advertised whole foods and grains, and inside is a wide assortment of healthy food and products. It's located on a corner and seemed like a good neighborhood resource.
