Mixed Results - Edit
When Boulder Social opened in 2022, I was excited to try the vegan reuben sandwich, which featured a portobello patty. This was a decent reuben—nothing to write to Morrissey about—but solid. Unfortunately, approximately seven hours later, I was roused from slumber to take care of some urgent, ad-hoc business. Not full-on food poisoning, but still a “now-god-take-the-wheel” sort of scenario during the devil’s late hour.
Read moreSo. After about a year-and-a-half, when I worked up sufficient courage to return, I shared the cauliflower buffalo wings and ordered the vegan bowl, also featuring cauliflower. Both were tasty enough and thankfully didn’t turn my insides to roiling tea.
In the times since, my visits have yielded mixed results. On the positive side, the beer list is large and varied and closing time isn’t until 11pm, so an evening rendezvous doesn’t have to feel rushed.
But the staff sometimes seems especially.. not-stoked.. to be there and can give off vibes similar to the 2005 movie, Waiting. I went once to watch a CU game, but allegedly due to licensing, they are only allowed to play the Buffs on a certain amount of TVs at a time. The seating areas facing these screens fill up fast, leaving the majority of the remaining TVs open for a miscellanea of sporting events, to which no other patrons seemingly flock, save for a few key staff members with remote control privileges and apparently varying alma maters.
All considered, for a place that calls itself Boulder Social, this establishment could stand to be a little more of both.
Oh and BS also gets two spankings from Mother Earth for providing tiny takeouts in a large, Weasley-family-sized bag, plus plastic utensils without a request to provide them.

A few choices - Edit
Vegan choices are well marked, Cauliflower buffalo bites to start. Vegan Reuben and Vegan Bowl for entree. I thought the bowl was too oily for my taste. Too many fried Brussels and not enough steamed vegetables. My dh enjoyed the Reuben. Great beer selections.

Cons: Oily bowl, Impossible burger not vegan as is
