Great for Vegetarians - Edit
Hi I believe Bluebird have recently changed the menu to all vegetarian and Vegan. I was disappointed when we visited there was just one vegan cake option, didn't eat any thing savoury but as another reviewer stated there are lots of vegetarian and cheese options.
Read moreWould be nice to see a few more vegan options as everyone can eat them not just vegans. The laughing Lama down the road had several vegan options when I last went.

Nice vibes but not many vegan options when we went! - Edit
Clearly a popular cafe and it was a lovely place to sit, with friendly staff. However, I was disappointed that for a vegetarian cafe it didn't have more vegan options. They were whole cabinets of focaccia etc but all of them had dairy cheese on. Probably a great cafe for vegetarians.
Read moreWe got all the savoury things on offer, which were a vegan sausage bap with chilli jam, and two "sausage roll style" pastries, one of which was bean chilli flavour, and the other was called Bengali 5 spice. The pastry on the rolls was particularly nice, you could tell it was homemade.
I think there may have been one sweet vegan option (perhaps a cake) but I'd been hoping for vegan croissants...😒
There were lots of plants, and PA speakers hanging from the ceiling so I think they do live music/art events. There were sound dampening panels hanging from the ceiling too which I think helped the cafe have a really nice acoustic - not too loud but with a nice level of background chatter.
Pros: Nice atmosphere
Cons: Not many vegan options for a veggie cafe!

I had two delicious vegan rolls. One was Bengali 5 Spice and the other was Spinach and Chickpea.

Shambles outlet - Edit
This refers to the Shambles shop not the main shop in Acomb. All bread vegan, some vegan cakes also like cookies and flapjacks, really nice and well above average. Have shopped here every few days for years. Would like to know which breads have white flour in and which don't but can't get an answer when emailing them.

Savoury and sweet options - Edit
They do a great spinach and chickpea pastry, as well as a 5-spice Indian one. There was also a vegan chocolate espresso bun, which was very tasty, although I couldn't taste the coffee at all. The place is pretty big, with a children's corner where they can play with the model kitchen etc. You can also see into the bakery sometimes where the magic happens!
