My new favorite! - Edit
The food was next level! A flavor bomb in every bite! Really some of the best food (vegan or not) that I’ve ever had. We went on a Tuesday and took advantage of their special 2 appetizers 2 entrees and a dessert for 2 people for $75. My husband and I were more than satisfied! Luis did a phenomenal job with our drinks and steering us toward the right dishes! We’ll definitely be back!!

Everything is fried (and tips are out of control) - Edit
I went to Bloom fully expecting to rate it 5 stars. From the appearance, it seems easily to be a 5 star place. Ordered the set menu.
Read moreHowever, 1 star had to be deducted because everything I ordered ended up being deep fried. The menu didn’t indicate the things were fried, so there wasn’t a lot of transparency. I can handle 1 or 2 fried items especially if it’s clear that’s what I’m ordering. However the last straw was the sweet potato gnocchi. The gnocchis themselves were deep fat fried. That’s not normal for gnocchi. It was good, so nothing against it. But why can’t the menu list it as “fried gnocchi” so people would know what to expect?
This place also has a 20% mandatory tip which is not disclosed ahead of time. That’s the problem, you have to say on the menu that the tip is 20% so people know that when deciding to order. And then they ask you if you want to leave more.
Pros: Fancy atmosphere , Tasty food
Cons: Too much oil, Mandatory 20% tip

Good Vegan Choice 👏 - Edit
We came here for brunch and the food was pretty good overall. The highlight was definitely the nachos with scrambled tofu — super flavorful and satisfying! The rest of the dishes were decent, though nothing mind-blowing. The area around the restaurant has lots of cute little shops and boutiques, which makes it a great spot to grab brunch and then stroll around after. A solid choice if you’re looking for a relaxed vegan spot in Chicago.

Absolutely phenomenal! - Edit
I had weekend brunch at Bloom and every single thing we tried was phenomenal. So good, in fact, that we had several people come up to us (we were sitting next to the open window) and ask what we were having/tell us how good it looked, not even realizing everything was vegan.

Nice place - Edit
The flavors were delicious, I had the artichoke and I felt it was perfect. I then had the special, and I felt that the texture of the pasta was off, and the mushrooms were not cooked enough, so they were difficult to chew.
Read moreI understand that was the special, so it was a new recipe so they are probably perfecting it.
Overall I really like the atmosphere and the flavors.

Lots of Creativity - Edit
I went there with a bunch of meat eaters. They were all impressed. It’s mostly tapas style and portions are on the smaller side. That’s fine, as long as you are aware. Good creativity.

One of Chicago’s best - Edit
One of Chicago’s best. For a special treat, try the 6-course chef’s tasting menu: besitos de yuca, turnip causa, oysters, scallops, gnocchi, and ube cheesecake & chocolate fondant for dessert. The scallops is only available through the tasting. The single best bite was the causa. What a flavor bomb! 🤯

I'm so excited every time I go to this place because they always have new and different things to try. Everything I've had has been awesome. The cocktails and mocktails are also fantastic.

Lovely spot but - Edit
If I order an endive salad I would like it to be mostly endive, not mostly kale cupped in endives.
Read moreThis was about as much an endive salad as a typical papaya salad is the cabbage it’s served in. Not massaged. Just raw and poky. :/
Ordered a dessert instead of an entree and asked both at ordering and when entrees were brought out for the dessert to come with the entrees so I could eat while my friends were…. No luck. The yuzu tart was certainly lovely.

Vegan birthday feast! - Edit
Came to Bloom for my birthday dinner with a couple friends and we were all blown away. Bloom gave me a complimentary ube cheesecake for dessert with a birthday candle, so sweet. We tried a ton of stuff, I think the whipped feta, arrancini, cheese plate, and Besitos de yucca. I didn’t order the Yucca Gnocci before the kitchen closed so I didn’t get to try that but everything we had was amazing. Loved the sangria and birds of a feather cocktails too!

Delicious Culinary Experience - Edit
I recently ate here in a group of 6. We ordered multiple plates and shared. I was the only vegan but everyone really enjoyed the food. It was a little pricier than I’d usually seek out, but the service was incredible and everything is made in house, even the vegan caviar. Wonderful flavors, textures, and presentations of the dishes.
Read moreFavorites were:
Turnip Causa - #1 pick, the crunch and flavor explosion was incredible!
Whipped Feta - so tasty, wish there was a bit more bread for the amount of dip
Ube Cheesecake - beautiful presentation, not too sweet
I love oyster mushrooms and pushed for us to order two plates of it. Unfortunately it was so salty that we could barely finish one. I wish I had gone with a different dish.

I’ve been vegan 9 years and this is my favorite vegan restaurant ever.

The best - Edit
Entirely vegan restaurant in Wicker Park, Chicago. The food was so good we forgot to take pictures. We went for brunch. We split half of the stuffed French toast which was like an organsmic experience. We split the churro waffle that was light and fluffy like no vegan waffle I’ve ever had. We each had a cappuccino that was rich and amazing. This is the vegan brunch place that I’ve been missing.

Well worth the price! - Edit
Expensive small-plate type restaurant with delicious food and drinks. Probably too expensive to go to all the time, but the food and drinks were very very good. Excellent place for a date night or a special occasion.
Read moreI would pretty much recommend all of the food we got, but especially the Yuca Gnocchi and Sun dried Tomato Sashimi.
Absolutely would recommend!

Got a few plates to share with a friend. Mostly everything was very delicious and unique in flavor. My main critique is that the portions are quite small for the price you pay.

Another Glorious Meal - Edit
I love to dine here when I can afford it. The best broccolini ever. And the strawberry syrup (with rose water) gin & tonic is divine.
Read moreI'm on a mission to try everything on the menu so I plan to be dining here as long as I live in Chicago. There's nothing not to like; from the service to the decor and place settings, to the food presentation. Did I mention it's all vegan and gluten free?

Unbelievably creative and delicious - Edit
Do not skip Bloom! Bloom is an all vegan tapas style sharing plates restaurant with an open air window at the front. Beautiful aesthetic and friendly waitstaff.
Read moreNow, the food. Holy delicious. Everything we tried was fantastic. The turnip causa was unlike anything I’ve had before. The beetroot tart had a creamy filling. The Sundried tomato sashimi was had crispy rice and the most balanced thoughtful flavors. The crab cake! Omg the crab cake. So creamy and well seasoned with the most delicious sauces. The bbq chorizo flatbread was also great but eclipsed by how fantastic the other dishes were. We topped it off with the passionfruit cheesecake, which was SO good. Creamy and tart with a tahini graham cracker crust and candied pecans and raisins on top.
The best part is that since we came during happy hour, we got 20% off the whole bill. Still pricy, but totally worth the splurge. One of the best meals I’ve ever had.

I got delivery from this restaurant last minute when my flight was delayed and I found myself in Chicago for an extra night. I'm so glad I found it, but I know the experience would've been much more delightful in person. I can't wait to go back and try their 10 course vegan menu!

Best upscale vegan restaurant in Chicago - Edit
Last vegan restaurant on our Chicago vegan foodie trip. This time was Bloom. An upscale vegan restaurant. This one hit it out of the park. Everything was really good. Only downside? Portions are small , like an upscale restaurant should be 😺 we ordered the Sun dried tomato sashimi, the Beer tart and the Crispy oysters. We rounded all up with the Passion Fruit cheesecake. Everything was… chef kiss. Easily one of our top 3 vegan upscale restaurants that we have ever tried

Cons: No parking, Pricey, Small portions
