Yay for vegan vlaai! - Edit
All the "closed" vlaaien are vegan, which is very convenient! (opposed to the lattice crust vlaaien, those are not-vegan)
Read moreI had a vlaai with plum filling and my friend had a gooseberry (kruisbes) vlaai. I also had one slice of "brood op de plank", which was a slice of bread with hummus and a load of veggies. Very tasty and a bit different from what you'd expect.
I was a bit put off by earlier reviews about staff being unfriendly. Staff were friendly enough when we were there, but I can imagine it get's busy there.
We were sad we didn't go back for more vlaai at the end of our day!

Hoewel het natuurlijk supercool is om te zien dat zo'n oude watermolen nogsteeds in bedrijf is, én het leuk is dat je als vegan toerist "vlaai eten in Limburg" van je to-do lijst kan afstrepen, is het etablissement dat bij de molen hoort niet zo boeiend. Personeel ongeïnteresseerd, geen plantaardige melk voor in de koffie, en de vlaai prima maar niet geweldig.

It's okay, if you really must have a vegan vlaai go here. Otherwise don't. Staff not friendly, seating is boring and they don't even offer plantbased milks. (just go to Albert Heijn and get some!)

This bakery makes vegan vlaai upon request. I ordered the apricot and the apple nut vlaai which was delicious. The vegan cookies they offer are also very tasty.

Great cake but no plant milk - Edit
If you're unlucky you have to wait quite a while for a table though the cake was worth it. The only downside is that you can't have it with a coffee with plant milk because they don't have it :/

Vlaai is kinda a must-eat when visiting Limburg. This place has different flavors of vegan vlaai. We had the apricot and it was very tasty :)

The bakery sells lots of delicious bread as well as cookies and vegan vlaai (a type of fruit pie that originates in Limburg), though you may need to order the vegan vlaai variant online first. The kinds of vlaai available depend on the season, since the only use locally produced fruit.

I regularly buy bread here, which is all vegan. They also do various vegan vlaaien, on weekends they usually have a few kinds available. Ordering ahead is possible on their website

I had a tosti with hummus and vegetables. It was a little bit different from a normal tosti since it was open. More roasted bread than a tosti. They also have a vegan salad and vegan vlaai during the weekend.
