Dit restaurant is een MUST in een leuke stad als Maastricht. De zaakvoerder doet zijn best om voor een breed publiek een veganistisch alternatief aan te bieden. Zeer geslaagd interieur met open keuken. Het culinair aanbod is ook OK, zeker voor het breder publiek.

Mediocre chili sin carne (not spicy) with microwave rice (?) and mayonnaise (?!). Pasta carbonara is nice! And a dish that you don’t often see veganised.

Great experience: food was very nice, waiters and waitresses were thoughtful.

Best is to take a reservation (we were accepted but only because we came early and able to free the table on time), which can conveniently be done online.

Read moreThe place is a lot bigger and some dishes on the menu are the same. We recognise the previous comments, staff is limited and some not so hospitable(seeing when dishes can be cleaned etc). But with only 3 people as far as we could see. One chef in the kitchen and 2 in the restaurant. Impressive that the chef managed to get all these dishes out.
The menu is a bit confusing with the menu of a seasonal 3 course menu but that was just the option to combine any starter and main from the menu. Also it was unclear what the desserts were.
Also interesting that there were 3 soups as the day soup. With only one chef I wonder about the freshness of everything as this is not needed.
The starters were a bit disappointing. We had the tomato soup, which tasted okay but the bread was not that special. The samosa was tasty.
As mains we had the fall salad and the mushroom pasta. Both Tasty but not that special. Also the salad was listed as being served with blue cheese but it was not blue cheese, rather a brie replacement.
As a dessert we had a piece of chocolate cake, okay but a bit dry.
All in all I would focus on a few good seasonal dishes and try to improve service. Also things like cleaning the toilet etc.

De bediening is zeer onervaren: borden weghalen terwijl tafelgenoten nog eten, niet vragen of je nog wat drinken wil, verkeerde gerechten brengen en op verkeerde tafel wegzetten. En gerechten dubbel in de kassa zetten. Doet erg afbreuk aan het eten dat juist heel lekker was.

Uiteenlopende klandizie. Student tot zakenlui. Volledig vegan. Bediening had het wel erg druk maar deed wel haar uiterste best. Gerechten die uit de keuken kwamen voortreffelijk. Incredible restaurant. Relaxed atmosphere, nice soul and pop music. Good service. Many great dishes. Delicious onion soup and truffle burger. Simple, yet precise recipes. Fresh and mostly local ingredients. Reasonable prices (29 euros for a three-course meal). The chef loves cooking and you can feel it.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic vegan restaurant, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! The menu is a perfect blend of traditional local dishes and more modern options like burgers, pasta, and satay, catering to all kinds of tastes. Every dish I tried was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, making it hard to believe everything was plant-based.

Read moreWe eventually found Avant Garden and walked inside to first, feel the atmosphere. We were very impressed with the comfortable and inviting plants that filled the room. Me, growing up in the restaurant business, coupled with being vegan for close to 15 years...I'm very observant.
We sat in a pillow packed corner and ordered the Truffle Burger and fries. It was so so tasty, I eventually talked to the owner to compliment him. Our talk convinced me that this restaurant, which opened just 9 months ago, will be our top choice next time we're in Maastricht. THANK YOU ROB!

We went there because of all the positive feedback, but unfortunately it wasn't what we expected. Maybe it's a matter of taste, but the "cheese" sauce on the "no chicken burger" was awful. The poké bowl was ok, but definitely not worth the price- the tofu was just plain, not marinated or satéd or something. I'd give one star if I could, but since the place is fully vegan I have to give two.

The staff was very friendly and attentiv. We had the Acoccado and the Truffle- Mushroom Toast which were ok but nothing special. The toast was not toasted...perhaps a mistake?

Had lunch here. My partner had the truffle burger, which was really rich in flavour, and I had the mushroom stew, a special dish they have. Funnily enough, I most enjoyed the creamy potatoes and salad it came with. The sides made it very well balanced.

-but the main course for 22€ was not really what we wanted!
It seemed more like a fast food version of the original dish.
The sauce described was simply a ready-made BBC sauce served with a potato.the wild mushrooms were simple mushrooms.
I had expected something freshly cooked to be served and not a poorly reproduced fast food version.
So that was already label fraud.
Otherwise nice service.
I just think that perhaps the chef was unable to work and was trying to save what couldn't be saved.
Better not to offer the dishes than to offer them badly.

This vegan restaurant had a huge variety of food options. In the end we decided to have the Welsh national dish and the poke bowl which both we can recommend. The sauce and the like-meat were very impressive in taste but it could be more food on it. The bowl also tasted good and fresh. The staff was nice and the dishes came very fast. We really enjoyed the atmosphere to sit outside in this place in summer. To sum up we definitely recommend this restaurant. It's probably not the cheapest way to eat but for this experience it's worth to support them.
