Great vlaai, but usually out! - Edit
I have been here 5 times when they had to tell me they were out of vegan vlaai… This made me believe that they might not actually have it, but they next time I dropped by I could choose between apricot, cherry and something I don’t remember. I have to tell you: It was AMAZING! I would offer this vlaai to anyone when celebrating something. I am still waiting for the day they make vegan rice vlaai, but right now it’s also great!

Great place for traditional vegan vlaai - Edit
When in Maastricht you should certainly pay a visit to Bisschopsmolen to try their vegan vlaai. When we visited they had two options (berries and apple/apricot). We decided to each have one of the options so we could share. Both were tasty and reminded us of vlaai we had in the past. We ordered it alongside some cherry juice and an apple juice lemonade. Perk of ordering the lemonade version is that it is served in a larger bottle out of which you can serve 3 glasses. Very refreshing on warm days!

Extremely tasty - Edit
My sister and I visited the bakery on a warm summer day. We had to wait a few minutes for a table and the staff couldn’t really get a grip on the chaos, but the vlaai really was worth all that. The price is unbeatable for the portion (3,50€ a piece) and the taste is unique to this region. It might look like a lot of dough, but it isn’t filling nor heavy at all (which is fantastic!). They only had one sweet vegan offering in the café, the bakery had a few more, but I was already glad that I still had an option. All the vegan pies have a different top-design, so you’re assured of it being vegan which I really appreciate. I can also recommend getting the fresh rosemary-lemon tea (it is surprisingly good). I took home some sourdough which I haven’t tried yet but smells amazing, and noticed that they have some vegan cookie options as well.

Heerlijk toch! - Edit

Single option vegan 'vlaai' - Edit
When I visited the Bisschopsmolen, there was only one type of vegan vlaai available (instead of the 20 they have in their assortiment), and no other vegan menu items at all (like sandwiches). The place also doesn't offer plant-based milks for the coffee. The vlaai I had, with berries, was tasty but definitely nothing special. Service was friendly and quick.

Heerlijke Limburgse vlaai - Edit
Lekkere opties, in twee maten vlaai nota bene.

Vegan “Limburgse Vlaai” - Edit
Normally I don’t like the typical “Limburgse Vlaai”, so I didn't eat them before I was vegan. But my boyfriend has always loved it so much. So when were in Maastricht, we had to try these vegan pies and they were so delicious! We tasted all three flavors: apricot, cherries and forest fruit.

There were no vegan vlaais anymore when I arrived at 2pm. The woman there told me that they are always sold out quickly, then maybe they should bake more? Just an idea. I mean there were more than enough non vegan left.
