Loads to choose between! - Edit

Loads off dishes. Very helpful with finding gluten-free options also. A little bit of fusion Indonesian. But I really liked it. Interesting flavors and big portions.

I could the menu clear. There is a section called vegetables and egg dishes so if you want vegan stay out of that section. Are dishes were good not great. The prices were fair for what we go. Note it is cash only. The service was great and it is a nice local feel to the setting

Pros: Big veg menu, Fair prices for what you get, Really friendly service

Cons: Food was just above average

Mixed experience - Edit

several pages with vegetarian menu, but not clear what is vegan. I took the Nasi Rames Special, considering of several sauces, fried cauliflower, and saté skewers. It also had a boiled egg (I gave this to my omnivore boyfriend). Choice of mild or hot meals. The portions are big. -- Waiter was polite but always in a rush. -- Tables and chairs look like straight from the 1990ies. Terrace to sit outside under trees.

Great food, good vibe, very reasonably priced with big portions.

Great Indonesian restaurant with vegan options - Edit

I've come to Betawi a few times and I'm always happy to eat here. The place is informal and the staff friendly. There are different vegan options to choose from but I nearly always get the Bami Spacial, which comes with lots of goodies and flavours and gives you the chance to taste different preparations. The prices are also friendly and I love that you can only pay cash (I think people are still not realizing the dangers of a cashless society).

they present themselves as a place with many vegan and vegetarian options but don't consider that shrimps aren't at all vegan or vegetarian. Lot's of their dishes are presented as vegetarian and vegan but are in fact not.
