Simple Korean food

Here is a family-run business with a small menu featuring simple Korean dishes. The dishes Patjuk 팥죽, Dongjijuk 동지죽, Kongjuk 콩죽 and Kong-guksu 콩국수 (summer menu) are vegan by default. Bibimbap can be veganized upon request if you ask for the egg topping to be omitted, e.g. by saying this: 계란 빼 주세요. 🚫🥚 [Gyeran ppae juseyo.]

I only had Kongguksu so far, which was made with black soy beans and topped with peanuts instead of eggs. The soup was thick and creamy! It is not pre-seasoned at all, so you can add salt or sugar according to personal preference.

Fyi, Kimchi and other complimtentary side dishes with a red sauce most likely contain fish sauce here.

They use mostly Korean-grown ingredients, which are normally more pricey in Korea. Regardless, serving size is generous and prices are very low here: Everything costs only 7000 KRW!

Service is slow, but food is home-cooked by a friendly Korean auntie. Overall, it's a local restaurant in the original village of the town, where it's rather quiet and rural (as opposed to the new fancy restaurant area by the lake, which is just 10 minutes away on foot).

Pros: taste ok, good ingredients , affordable prices, large servings, friendly service

Cons: service a bit slow
