Barely Acceptable. - Edit
Pricy for what you get. The baos are tasty but petite, and the noodle bowls are fairly simple and could use a bit more to them (and a more of what's there). I've tried a couple times, but don't think I'll bother again. Most recent time, I didn't get close to finishing my Tan Tan noodles because I simply wasn't enjoying them and it felt like a chore to eat more. Vegan items clearly indicated, which is appreciated.

Delicious bao’s - Edit
Vegan items are clearly labelled and the staff were very knowledgeable. The Bao buns were amazing!! Will definitely go back and try the other vegan friendly items.

Overly salty ramen - Edit
Not a fan. Limited vegan bao selection and the ramen was so oversalted, I couldn't finish it. All the tofu is prepared the same way, cut thinly and deep fried. It tastes like there is no seasoning. I can't really wrap my mind around why it is so popular. I prefer Ramen Arashi.

Would give 5 stars if this app would allow - Edit
Serves meat, has a few vegan options! I had the tan tan men and it was delish. My non-veg partner even enjoyed it. Multiple vegan ramen options as well as bao.

Great vegan ramen and bao - Edit
There was a 40 min wait out the door on a Saturday night, but the food was worth it! The ramen was great, but the bao was amazing! It’s hard to find good (not basic) vegan options, and the mushroom bao was definitely a great option. My mom and I split one, but I wish we would’ve ordered more! The curry was great too!

Great little restaurant - Edit
Went to Bao last night, they had a couple vegan options with I appreciate! I had the tam tam men made vegan. It was alright! I’m not sure I would go back for it though. It claimed to be very spicy, I found the broth to be a little bland and the actual temperature of my soup wasn’t very hot either.
Read moreIn Baos defence, it was also a very busy Friday evening - so I wouldn’t say no to going back and trying their vegan mushroom bao buns.
Edit: went back a second time for my first boa bun, it was awesome! Also had the katsu Japanese curry made vegan and that might be the best thing I’ve ate it a LONG time, it was AMAZING!!!!!! I’ll be going back for that asap.

Only one vegan Bao - Edit
I ate the Mala 5 mushroom and it was good. But it was the only vegan Bao. The Tonkatsu Chicken could have it changed for fried tofu but the spicy mayo would just be left out and not replaced with a vegan replacement. It's pretty boring

Vegan options - Edit
We tried the vegan tan tan ramen and the katsu curry. The food is fairly good, but seems like a meat-eater's idea of what vegan food is like. For example, the meat in dishes is swapped for plain fried tofu. Other non-vegan ingredients, like eggs, are just left out. The result is not a whole lot of flavour.

Recently discovered Bao and I was blown away by their vegan options. I was ecstatic to find vegan ramen here and it did not disappoint, it was so flavourful and filling. I’m looking forward to trying all of their other vegan options!
