Best Hummus Ever!!! - Edit
This place is so so so good. The beet salad, shakshuka, grilled eggplant plate, bread, cake, olives, kombucha, etc., were delicious! Not to mention the hummus: creamy, decadent, DIVINE!! Definitely check this place out if you are visiting the Portland area!

amazing stuff - Edit
Wandered onto this wonderful joint. Wife had never had vegan shawarma until we visited. She was blown away, and said it is far better than the meat variety. As soon as we had left she was asking when we could come back. Shawarma fries are a genius concoction! Really nice to meet the owner as well. You have to try the Malabi, it's unreal dessert

A welcome addition! - Edit
My partner and I had dinner here last night and it was awesome. Makes me almost not sad about Portobello (RIP). We got the beet dip, the hatch hummus, the falafel plate (I actually ordered the shawarma plate but didn't care to correct it), and the shakshuka. I felt the portions were adequate and it was the perfect amount of food for the two of us, and I was ravenous. The things they did with tofu were amazing. They managed to make it taste just like feta in terms of both taste and texture. The "tofu eggs" in the shakshuka were interesting as well. And of course there's the bread—warm, soft, thick and fluffy. Prices are very reasonable; nothing costs more than $12. What's not to like?

Fantastic Food and Service - Edit
I went here with my husband the week they opened. It was a nice romantic spot with the most delicious food. I'm a big fan of Shalom Y'all because of their vegan options but when the entire menu is vegan it just makes me so happy! There was a minor problem with our order and the staff totally went overboard to correct it. They are super nice which just makes them outstanding in my book. If you are visiting Portland and can only go to a few spots, definitely include this one!

delicious Israeli fare! great falafel! - Edit
Cute and cozy place that took over Portobello. The revamped the decor a bit and are bumpin Tel Aviv jams that probably will interweave into my dreams. :D
Read moreThey make a new house soda every day. Today it was blueberry mint. It was a great starter, just a touch sweet like the only sweetener used was the blueberries.
The falafel is moist and flavorful. Not greasy at all! The Boureka's were flaky and filled with savory tofu and greens. It reminded me of Croatian pastries my grandmother used to make me.
The portions are smaller than I thought, we usually have leftovers, hehe. But it was the perfect amount of food for me and my husband.
It's nice to visit a place with foods unfamiliar to our culture so we can get a taste of far away places and tradition, but to do so kindly and vegan is incredible!
Also! The lighting is dim and intimate which is really important for my coziness level. The server was nice, and knowledgeable about the menu too!
We had a great evening with friends and look forward to another visit later on!
