Fear not if crowded - Edit
They were busy on a Sunday night because they are so good. We were able to make our order and then sit next door at The Beer Mongers and have our food delivered. So much flavor!

Great peculiar option - Edit
Their food is great. The swarma fries is absolutely delicious. I would recommend you read a bit about Israeli food before going, though - we asked for help and waitresses didn’t know how to explain what those options were.

Cool spot, great food - Edit
I love the food here, and go relatively often when I have friends in town. It may not be for those who aren't used to "exotic" Middle Eastern flavors, but for those who like that flavor profile this is a treat. Their various hummuses are very creamy and smooth; likewise for their ice creams. Love the roasted carrots, too.

Was good, but salty - Edit
The hummus was great! The main dishes were really salty but they still had good flavor and texture. I was really upset they were actually out of avocado! How can you let that happen?! Lol
Read moreThey didn't have the icecream we wanted to try because it was seasonal so was sad about that too. We were out of towners and this was the place out of all the options we chose. Bad timing I guess.
Pros: All the vegan
Cons: Ran out of avocado. Salty

Was not seated for at least 30mins - Edit
Signs said wait to be seated and I wasn't seated until 30mins. My rental bike time ran out so I knew it'd been at least 30. I had to wave down someone to be seated and it was extremely embarrassing. I would avoid this place as

Israeli cuisine - Edit
Very good vegan restaurant offering israeli levante cuisine. We ordered hummus with spicy zough sauce, falafel and another main course with fiddlehheads. Never before I ate fiddlehheads but it was very good. Some seats outside available.

Excellent vegan spot to wow guests - Edit
The food here is a delicious Israeli completely plant-based cuisine. Everything was delicious from the appetizers entrees and desserts. We came here early afternoon on Tuesday and there was only one server for the entire restaurant therefore the service was quite slow. It's slightly more expensive than some other vegan places.

Satisfying Israeli vegan menu - Edit
We walked to this restaurant from the Vera Katz esplanade. This SE division restaurant offers a menu that is a departure from the Thai and comfort, bar menus that are prevalent in Portland. The food could best be described as excellent Israelí peasant fare with a lighter contemporary flare. We ordered potato latkes; cilaquiles with tofu; and shwarma. Everything was served with cubed potatoes. The food was filling and delicious.

Outstanding dining experience - Edit
Can’t say enough about the divine dining experience we just had at Aviv. The ambiance brought us right back to our travels in Israel last year, and the food! The hummus is among the best we’ve tasted anywhere in the world - creamy and airy and adored the green Hatch chili topping. The flavors of the vegetable hash were complex and just so delicious and the shakshuka, complete with fermented soy egg, was out of this world. Do yourself a favor and just go!
