Themed character shop and cafe. Est. August 2019 as a Pusheen ice cream parlour. Savoury dishes, waffles and hot drinks also available. Almost everything can be veganised with a wide range of vegan ice creams, and a lot of items (such as the marshmallows) are vegan by default. Cafe upstairs and shop with takeaway ice cream booth on the ground floor. Open Mon-Sun 11:00-19:00. Takeaway only on Thurs.

Frosty and unwelcoming atmosphere - Edit
I recently visited this cafe, and it's such a beautiful place with wonderful decor that really stands out. However, it’s a real shame that the staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming. We weren’t really greeted when we arrived, and there was a frosty atmosphere throughout our visit. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return because of this experience.

Sweeter than sweet novelty - Edit
We went as a treat to celebrate kid turning sweet 16. Pricey but as a one off, you get it. Dish was veganised, which was great. Far too sickly sweet to eat it all, which was a shame.
Read moreGreat theme if that's your thing, but I did find myself wanting to be dark and gloomy after!
Downside was had to order food and couldn't just have a coffee.
Still, kid enjoyed it!
Pros: Everything themed, Large portion , Everything could be veganised
Cons: Expensive , Too much sugar, Couldn't just order a drink

Cute but expensive - Edit
If you like Hello Kitty, you’ll love it. The café space is upstairs and you need to book to be sure of a table (slots are limited to one hour). I enjoyed my avo toast, but the sundae was too sickly. The ice cream had clearly been refrozen after partly defrosting and was a disappointment given how expensive it was.
Read moreThe menu is really vegan-friendly and most things can also be made gluten free if you need it. Staff are very friendly and responsive too.
All in all, it’s great if you’re after some kawaii food and instagram shots. But it’s expensive for what it is and the quality isn’t what I had expected.
Pros: Really cute , Everything is vegetarian, almost everything vegan
Cons: Expensive

Cute and yummy - Edit
We went there because of the themed hello kitty food, so we didn't expect much of the foods taste. But it was very good! They had many vegan dishes on the menue and some were available as vegan options. For me the desserts were a bit too sweet, but I normally don't eat sugar, so I'm just not used to such sweetness. My family liked it tough.

Vegan heaven for Hello Kitty fans! - Edit
Loved the theme and that everything could be veganised if it wasn’t already (all the menu is already vegetarian or vegan). The food was far better than I thought it would be, given the novelty factor. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about their menu.

I love hello kitty - Edit
I would die for hello kitty. I would even travel the nightmare that is GWR to get from Bristol to Brighton, all for hello kitty.
Read moreThe food is adorable and there are so many vegan options. The drinks are fun too. I also bought a hello kitty bag here. Best day ever.

Very cute cafe, beautiful food but expensive small portions! - Edit
I feel a bit weird giving this place 4 stars, I think it’s more of a 3.5 stars place but I don’t think you can do half ratings. I kind of loved it, but have a few problems with it too. Firstly, the food is beautiful - you will swoon over how appealing everything looks - and the decor is brilliant - fun, and bright with a Hello Kitty theme. To dine in, you need to be ordering actual food, so you can’t just sit upstairs in the Hello Kitty cafe with just a coffee.
Read moreMajor warning: the food is very expensive. Avo toast = £8. Curry and rice = £9.50. Waffles = £9. The food is all very tasty, but the portion sizes for the price are very small. We spent almost £50 for 2 adults and a toddler, and still needed to pop into What the Pitta a few doors along to actually feel full up.
I think if the prices were 75% of what they would were charging, it would be just right and I wouldn’t have left feeling a bit ripped off.
We might go back again on a special occasion as my toddler enjoyed it - I’m glad the place exists and hope it stays open, but I wish they’d lower their prices just a bit, and make the ‘mains’ dishes feel a bit more like mains rather than expensive snacks.
We ordered the avo toast, the curry, the cream cheeze & ham bagel, flowerberry waffles, the apple & raspberry punch and a flat white. The avo toast was very nice, the curry came out almost stone cold (and was tiny!), the bagel was OK, the waffles were delicious and the drinks were very nice.
The staff were great - very welcoming and helpful.
Pros: 100% vegetarian, mostly vegan , Beautiful food! , Lovely staff
Cons: Extremely expensive , Small portions

Went with my niece (who loves the place) and my sister and daughter. Such a lovely, pretty place with such lovely touches. Really was a treat. I was so happy I could really join in and have everything I wanted Vegan. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.

Great place to eat veggie meals! - Edit
The place looks amazing, the BT21 theme is carried out nicely. The staff is amazingly helpful and kind. They have great veggie options to choose from. It's a place for everyone and you should pay a visit. Especially if you are a BTS/BT21 fan, do go! They play BTS music and the shop has a great selection of BT21 goodies. I will definitely be back!

Tasty and Unique! - Edit
Kawaii cafe that changes theme every now and again. It's quietly completely veggie with many vegan and GF options. The staff are super sweet and helpful. All of the dishes are themed on cute characters, at the moment it's BT21!! Great for all the ARMY out there😉
Read moreIt's a really nice place to take photos with friends and they have so many really cute things in the boutique~ The upstairs is a restaurant, but you need to book online before you go.
They do do take out and all their ice cream is made on site, with loads of non-dairy options that aren't just sorbet and they have some really cool flavours like wasabi and peach!

The Artbox x Pusheen café opened in August 2019 and they offer so many vegan and gluten-free options, ice cream, toppings, waffles etc. It is very cute and a special experience, with a lovely little shop. I shall miss it!

So cute! - Edit
When I found out about the Pusheen cafe I was keen to find out whether it'd be worth the trip for me, and it definitely was. It's very much the style of Japanese character cafes, all the food and decor is themed, friendly hostesses greet you and take you upstairs to the cafe (there's a gift shop on the ground floor). The ice cream was absolutely delicious and there was so much choice, I think only the chocolate/caramel flavours were not able to be veganised. At £9 they're not cheap but the portions are big and the quality was good, I'd definitely do it again as a treat and I look forward to seeing what character themes they do next.
