Unique take on vegan mediterranean

Service and food were top notch! Very nice yet approachable venue. Go with a group if you can so you can taste multiple menu items. I dont think you can go wrong with any of the dips and the fresh house made pita was delish. My favorite was the mushroom kabob! And don't skimp on dessert, the date cake was heavenly.

Pros: the FOOD, friendly and attentive service

Cons: bit on the pricey side, heavy on the oil

I wanted to like it more

Came here to scratch my itch for Mediterranean food that isn’t falafel. Mission accomplished, but not sure I would come back. The kofta kabobs were very good but too real. I was scared I was eating meat. I didn’t like their hummus (I prefer more lemon). I didn’t try their yogurt because it’s coconut based and I’m not crazy about coconut dairy. Also the tab was outrageous for what I got. I don’t mind paying for something I really enjoy but this wasn’t worth it IMO.

Wow. Just go here.

One of the two or three best meals I have had as a vegan. Just incredible. While extremely busy on a Saturday night we still received excellent service. Make sure you have a reservation.

Try the game-changer “steak”. Seriously, it is incredible. The three dips and bread were delicious and the dessert was yum.

What are you waiting for, just make a reservation, you won’t be disappointed.

A welcome addition to NYC

This was a wonderful surprise. It was an inventive menu served in a beautiful space by friendly staff. (Long-time New Yorkers will recognize the space from the old Biltmore Room.) It's definitely a place to share as many dishes as you can. The manti pockets, in particular, were a big hit, but OMG, the Chunk brand steak kabob was a revelation. It's the best mock meat I've had yet.

Pros: Separate bar area, Wide selection of dishes, Friendly staff

Cons: A little noisy.

Don't skip the Dip Mezze, try them all

This place kicks! Anixi showed up as a suggested place on my feed: vegan, Mediterranean. That’s my jam. Looking at the pics and menu online definitely got me all curious. It definitely lives up to the hype.

Walk in, past the bar, and into the dining room in the back. It has a modern, old-world charm to it. I initially thought the place would be a little bit more frou frou but the place was totally accessible. Our waiter was friendly and funny. He even charmed us into ordering an extra dish.

Here’s the breakdown:
- Taramasalata: lemon-infused yogurt w/ orange seaweed caviar (Yum!)
- Whipped ricotta: made from almond and cashew topped with apricots
- Layered herb bread
- “Beef” Lahmacun
- Manti “lamb” pockets (Yes!)
- Arak cured “salmon” risotto
- Prickly pear & mint and Saffron & thyme sparkling sodas

Skip the Lahmacun. But absolutely get the Taramasalata and the Manti Pockets. Dips appeared throughout the meal and it’s clear Anixi specializes in these; they were all excellent. The plating was lovely. And I loved the table setting. Must try their cocktails, pizza, and desserts next time. Good for dates.

Mediterranean Food

Really nice to have vegan options in a meat heavy cuisine, got to try a lot of old favorites and loved the flavors and design of the dining room. Service was 10/10.

Modern Vegan Fare

Some of the best vegan food in New York City (or anywhere!) Big menu, lots of options. Best chicken kabob, whipped ricotta, teramasalata, and other Mediterranean items as delicious as can be AND all vegan. My new favorite restaurant!!

Pros: The chicken kabob., Lots of shareable plates., Non vegan friends will love it too.

Cons: Getting busy. Get a reservation.

The absolute best

Please go to this place, you will not be let down. This is one of the best vegan restaurants I’ve ever been to. I highly recommend getting the sparkling saffron cocktail, “lamb” pockets and “chicken” shish kebab, they were phenomenal! To top it all of the ambience was classy and elegant and the service was outstanding!!

Pros: Amazing vegan options , Excellent service , Great value
