What a diamond! - Edit
Great place! The serting is so nice and rare for a vegan reataurant. It’s so kice to feel a sense of celebration eating out. Food was so good. I only aubtracted a star because I son’t care for fake meat so much and the menu was a lot of ”meat” and I didn’t know what it was actually made of, and there wasn’t that much fresh greens. But everything we ate was phenomenal!

Easily one of the BEST - Edit
I freaking love everything about this place. The food, the diverse menu, the service, the ambience! It’s lovely every time. I’ve tried a variety of things including dips (get the taramasalata for sure), kabobs, “squid ink” pasta, pides (like boat shaped pizzas), sides, and dessert. They have such a variety of menu items so if you’re looking for more plant based or want to eat really realistic “chicken, steak, scallops, etc, there’s something for everyone!
Read moreIf you’re getting dips, I recommend getting the layered herb bread! It’s like a hybrid of Challah and Brioche 😋
The Medjool date cake is AMAZING. They put the ganache on right in front of you and the edible gold flakes candied pecans are great little touches!

Beautiful space beautiful plates! - Edit
Came here at 10:30pm last night (Saturday night) after an off-Broadway show with two friends, 1 vegetarian 1 omnivore and were sat right away without a reservation which was great.
Read moreWe ordered the 3 Dip Mezze of hummus, ricotta and roasted eggplant with the layered herb bread - the portions were large and you get a good sized loaf of bread plenty for sharing, Artichoke Tots were also good portion, Beef Dolmas were a smaller dish but filling and we added a side of Confit Potatoes also good size dish and we drank herbal teas.
Everything was yummy.. most delicious to me were the Dolmas very satisfying as a dish I've never had before as a vegan, the Ricotta was so creamy and good, the Roasted Eggplant dip had lovely smokey flavor with additional fresh pop of pomegranate seeds both so good with the warm fresh bread and I also enjoyed the lemony flavor of the Confit potatoes.. (hummus I know can be so varied but hands down my favorite hummus ever is from 12 Chairs!) The artichoke tots definitely needed salt and didn't have a ton of artichoke flavor to me but I'm realizing now reading the menu it came with a tahini sauce which I missed seeing on the table and if I had used maybe would've enjoyed more!
The space is beautiful, in addition to a large bar area up front, throughout the main dining room there are rows of tables with large soft round couch seating so if you're a cozy booth person like me there's a lot available. All the staff were friendly and the music was great, kind of Mediterranean lounge if I had to describe it (I wish I had Shazamed some of it!) a tad loud, we had to raise our voices to talk but could hear each other OK.
I see why some people say it's expensive but I think pretty standard prices compared to other high quality NYC vegan places and worth it for the lovely dining experience personally.
I think there were 3 different birthday parties throughout the hour ish we were there and it does seem like a great place for groups as well as just 2 or 3 people... the food came out surprisingly fast even before our teas and we were not rushed at all even though we were there right up until closing time.

Note: I returned to the restaurant in 9/28/23 and was disappointed by the “squid” ink pasta, too chewy and it did not taste of the sea. It lacked character. Please rethink this item. Also, the fattoush was missing the pita element.

Fabulous cocktails, fantastic overall experience - Edit
I loved everything about my dining experience at Anixi. I went with 5 friends/ family members, none of whom are vegan, and everyone loved each dish. We got the 5 cold mezze sampler, the smoked salmon, tuna, mushrooms kabob, a flatbread special, and the shakshuka. Everything was extraordinarily tasty, and my family couldn’t believe it was all vegan. One of the best cocktail menus I’ve seen, and I wanted to try them all! I will definitely be back for another special occasion.

A MUST for vegans in NYC - Edit
Wow wow wow! This is possibly one of the best dining experiences of my life! Everything was excellent and the service was top notch. We had the three dips (the eggplant was my fav) and tuna tartar for apps, then the chicken kabob, then the date chocolate cake. Really unbelievable food and I cannot wait to go back. If you are vegan and looking for a tremendous experience, this place is a must! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Bravo, Anixi!!!!

Food was great, all the dips were amazing. The kabocha squash with harissa and the fattoush were special, as were the drinks. This was our last stop on our trip to NYC. It was a memorable experience from the decor, ambiance and of course the food. Excellent service. Beautiful attention to detail. This would be a great place for a special occasion, date, anniversary or birthday. We enjoyed the Kabocha squash dip mezze, crispy "lamb" cigars, wild mushroom kabob, and za'atar pita. Would highly recommend 👌

Anixi has 5 star potential, but not quite there yet.. - Edit
My friend and I stopped by ANIXI for the first time last month.
Read moreWe started with the 3 Dip Mezze with 1 choice of housemade bread ($26): Fire Roasted Eggplant, Whipped “Ricotta" & Taramasalata accompanied with the Layered Herb Bread. The dips and breads were enjoyable.
My favorites:
GRILLED FATTOUSH ($18) - it was like a very good deconstructed romaine salad. The romaine had a light char that was extremely satisfying. It was a playful and creative dish that was fun to eat. Might be one of my favorite salads ever.
MANTI "LAMB" POCKETS ($20) - I would come back again just for the "Lamb" Pockets! They were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor! Also, the yogurt and juicy tomatoes were a perfect addition.
I could do without:
KOFTA KABOB ($27) - I enjoyed the consistency and flavor of the kabobs. However, I felt as if they ate very salty.
CONFIT POTATOES ($12) - the potatoes were okay, but I wouldn't order them again.
PISTACHIO ICE CREAM ($8) - The ice cream was good, but I only received a tiny hint of pistachio. I also liked the fig and raw pistachios on top, but overall it was just okay. Not worth the $8 price tag.
OVERALL THOUGHTS:
The hostess and servers were friendly. The decor is stunning! The atmosphere felt posh and fun. The food came out quick. Everything tasted very fresh. I would definitely dine here again. Especially, since I had to refrain from ordering the whole menu. I'm excited to try different dishes next time. Except for the "Lamb" Pockets and Grilled Fattoush, I wouldn't be able to resist ordering them again!

Fabulous vegan restaurant - Edit
We absolutely loved this place.
Read moreClassy dining room, with bar area for extra seating. Good friendly service, very theatrical way of serving the dishes.
We started with the three dips plus pita bread. The taramasalata was amazing, the kombucha squash was really good, and the hummus was adequate but tasty. The pita was excellent too.
Our main courses were the mushroom kabob and the kofta. Both really good, the kofta was uncannily like meat but tasted fantastic.
We'd left room for dessert so both had the Mejdool date cake. Heaven on a plate.
There's plenty of choice on the menu, and looking at diners around us it all looked amazing.
Pros: 100% vegan, Delicious everything, Great decor
Cons: Had to book an early time to get a table
