Fantastic! - Edit
We had green onion cake, papaya salad, spicy noodle soup and spicy satay soup. Everything was just great, and the portions generous. The satay soup was spicier than the other, and probably my favourite dish.

Authentic vegetarian Vietnamese cuisine - Edit
Authentic vegetarian Vietnamese cuisine, with plenty of vegan and gluten-free options, all of which are clearly labeled on the menu. The special vermicelli bowl was quite delicious and filling; you can make it vegan by subbing the tempura for lemongrass tofu or extra spring rolls. Prices were reasonable. Service was efficient, but could have been a bit friendlier. The interior was clean, bright, and spacious, with large windows letting in ample natural light.

Cons: Service could've been friendlier; a bit brusque

Great tofu rolls - Edit
We had fresh tofu rolls and spring rolls for starters, they were super tasty. The entrees were OK as well, my friend had soup and I had tofu with rice and veggies. I was quite happy with my choice but my friend thought the soup could have used more spices.

3.5 - Decent viet food, it’s okay - Edit
Grabbed the Satay noodle soup, lemon grass tofu plate, and the tofu rolls. The tofu rolls were nice and fragrant. The soup was spicy and greasy but no flavour than that. The lemongrass plate was the same.

Great soup - Edit
One of the things I love about An Chay is their food is healthier than some of the other local restaurants. Crisp fresh veggies and the option of brown rice instead of vermicelli noodles. Veganitems are clearly marked on the menu. Their soup is great and their summer rolls are the best in town.
Read morePros: Fresh veggies, Brown rice is an option
Cons: Can be a bit difficult for parking

So good! - Edit
The food was wonderful, the staff was friendly and pleasant, and the restaurant itself was comfortable and attractive. All three dishes we had were tasty and fresh, and reasonably sized and priced. It is a vegetarian restaurant, and we are vegan, but there was a lot of choice and many of the listed vegetarian dishes have vegan options. We’ll definitely return.

Stumbled on this gem to celebrate our anniversary - Edit
We stumbled on this lovely restaurant the day after our 10th anniversary. We were exploring downtown and got hungry, so we looked up vegetarian spots near us and I was surprised to see a vegan/vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant pop up.
Read moreWe got sat right by the window with a nice view of the street and were served promptly. I got the pho satay which was AMAZING, and my partner got the vermicelli bowl which he couldn't stop raving about. He normally is not a fan of Vietnamese food.
We also got the salad rolls, which were delicious, but be mindful if you can't handle spice because the sauce is pretty spicy. The spring rolls were super fresh and delicious.
The food was very well spiced but still tasted healthy and fresh.
I tried their burdock tea to help with digestion since we'd been eating a lot that weekend. I'm excited to try their coffee next time.
Hoping to be back soon with more people.
Pros: Delicious, healthy food, that tastes authentic, Enjoyable atmosphere, Nice view
Cons: Adjacent streets not great to walk on at night

Its OK - Edit
I came here a couple months after they first opened. I had a vegan dish and my two friends had a vegetarian dish, and none of us thought the food was overly good, it was just OK. I felt like they were missing some flavor.

My go-to Vietnamese, from being raised Vietnamese - Edit
Becoming vegan, I felt I didn’t have options to eat the food I loved growing up (my mom is Vietnamese). An Chay started around the time I became vegan and I don’t remember exactly how I found them but I was looking for vegan Vietnamese, found them, tried it out, and never looked back. I’ve tried almost everything on their menu and their pho tastes exactly like my mom’s pho minus the meat, their satay is DELICIOUS, and my regular order: the Bon Hue, is my favourite. I have the Bon Hue almost every time I come here. It tastes exactly like my mom’s with just enough spice but a depth of flavour between slightly sour and spicy that I compare any other Bon Hue that I come across to this one from An Chay. I come here often, like once a month or more. I wish I could come here weekly, that’s how much I love it. I hope more people support this place, I would be heartbroken if it ever went out of business.

Stopped by for a warm lunch and was delighted by the friendly service and delicious Vermicelli Special. I was rewarded with a seat near the large windows facing Jasper Avenue so I was able to enjoy the view while I enjoyed my meal. Service was prompt and the meal was fresh and tasty.

Tasty, healthy Vietnamese food in downtown YEG - Edit
Enjoyed the tasty Vietnamese soups at An Chay. We tried the satay and the curry soups, along with the salad rolls. I'm not usually a salad roll fan, but these ones were delightful! All of the dishes tasted very fresh and healthy, this is definitely not junk food. Just the right amount of spice. The restaurant has a convenient downtown location with some metered street parking in the vicinity.

really great traditional Vietnamese food! - Edit
Me and my fiancé went here to night and it was fantastic. We had the green papaya salad to start which was so good that we got a second to take home! We also got a curry tofu which was delicious and the satay noodle which was a nice spicy soup, similar to pho. Check this place out if you want healthy and delicious food.
