Excellent food, generous owner who pays attention to everyone even when the place is crowded. Several vegan options available in the buffet as well as on the menu.

Delicious!

I was at a conference in Albuquerque and stayed at a hotel that is about a 3 minute walk from this place. Everything was delicious. I will definitely return to this place if I'm in town again.

Pros: Vegan options, All you can eat option to try different items, In downtown

Cons: its a small location, doesn't sit too many people, doesn't serve alcohol (I was hoping for wine)

best Indian food I've had!

It's hard to find South Indian food where I live, so I was very pleased to find AmSpices. Excellent uttapam, dosas, and idlis. My husband and I were in heaven. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. It was so good, we had dinner there twice during our 4 day stay in Albuquerque. I highly recommend this place! Very authentic and the restaurant smells so incredible when you walk in. They also have a buffet daily, and more than half the items are vegan. Gluten free items are clearly marked.

Overpriced

Waaaaay overpriced. Small portions too. If you want tasty vegan food, you can find better and cheaper at Bombay Spice, the Indian grocery store up the street. I can buy two BOXES of samosas for what I was charged for two INDIVIDUAL ones from AmSpices.

Pros: Vegetarian

Cons: Overpriced, Small portions

so food is cheaper at a grocery store than a restaurant? you mean we have to pay people to prepare our food, serve it to us, then clean-up? wow... thanks for the (useless) insight, VeganPaws.

Like going to a family dinner

The woman who (I believe) owns and runs this wonderful place with her husband (all just inferrence, might be totally wrong) has made me something delicious everytime I have been in. She let me know what was vegan on the buffet but when I kept looking at the menu she told me "You want vegan? You sit down." And she was like a fairy godmother in the kitchen. She made me some amazing poori bhaji, some sort of delicious curry potatoes and bhindi, and delicious rice. It still came out to ten dollars. She and her food is fantastic and exactly what you need before you know you need it. I swear she is magic. Huge helpings and huge love in them.

Very Good

I went here for the lunch buffet yesterday. They were clear about which items were vegan, the price was reasonable, and I loved everything I tried. I can't wait to go back and try the dosas!

Pros: Price, Yummy, Many options, clearly marked

Cons: Parking can be a hassle downtown

We live nearby and have been looking forward to AM Spices of India opening. .. our first meal there was delightful, the different flavors were wonderful. We look forward to making it a regular stop during the busy work week.
