Tasty and cozy - Edit
It took us a while to realise this restaurant is run by just one guy! I don't know how he does everything so quick and still comes off so calm and friendly to all customers. Very relaxed atmosphere and delicious food.

Absolutely loved every single thing we got here! Mainly veggie/vegan options, with a few which can be meat-based if desired. Very relaxed place, quiet but a lovely ambiance. Aubergine caviar and veg & chickpea couscous tagine were incredible!

I had a great veggie platter although it didn’t include any falafel. That was disappointing. The owner was the server as well as the cook - one man show. He is very friendly. Vegan items are clearly marked, even dessert!

Memorable and beautiful experience - Edit
The atmosphere was like being in an RPG tavern inspired by Mediterranean culture. The food was very delicious and affordable, my friends and I really enjoyed this and we hugged the owner at the end who kept sprinkling sweets for us after we spoke to him about Scotland. Wish I could add 5 stars to this review.

Passionate chef - Edit
This restaurant is run by a sinle person doing service and cooking the food. We‘ve been here and enjoyed our food very much! But not just the food was great, also the owner/chef/server! He talks about the food he prepares with so much respect and passion, explaines what‘s inside the dishes and how he prepares it- that‘s rare and impressive. We will definately be back when in Nice again.

Alounak is perfect for a quiet meal out. If you've had a long day exploring the local region and need to chill this is the place. Serves delicious, hearty food. All vegan and gluten free options are clearly marked and there are 3 mains, 3 soups, 3 starters and 5 deserts!! The mezze sharing starter was lovely and the ratatouille and cous cous we had were delicious. Chocolate pudding was good too! The waiter was friendly and funny and the restaurant was very relaxed.

Easy and Yummy Takeaway - Edit
I went here late one evening to grab some takeaway. The owner was very kind and tried to feed me while I waited for the takeaway. The food itself was delicious and had incredible seasonings. I tried the eggplant caviar, hummus, and ratatouille. All three dishes were colorful and very good.

My husband had the ratatouille with baked potato. Which was very tasty too.
For dessert we shared the chocolate mousse and it was to die for. So delicious
We then had a mint tea each and was very satisfied.
Would definitely return when back in Nice

We chose this restaurant having spotted it on-line and checked out the menu the day before. There is a good veggie/vegan choice. The owner was welcoming, attentive and funny and spoke English. The ambience of the restaurant was warm and comfortable.

We really enjoyed our meals, washed down with sweet mint tea.
This is a great find, in the centre of Nice, for veggies and vegans, as well as those who aren't.

Es handelt sich zwar nicht um ein reinveganes Restaurant, die Speisekarte enthält neben einem veganen Menü aber 4 vegane Vorspeisen und 3 vegane Hauptgerichte. Auch einige der Nachtische sind vegan und alles (gerade für französische Verhältnisse) sehr preiswert!

We were eager to eat here after all the reviews, and our experience was très magnifique 👌 The owner seated us and made us feel welcomed immediately. Inside, we felt like we had stumbled into our own personal slice of Morocco; the walls were adorned with North African art, the ceiling draped in sumptuous curtains, and the peaceful music made it feel cosy and romantic.
Read moreAfter eating here, we basically rolled ourselves home. The menu was accomodating for vegans, with 4 entrees, 3 mains, and 4 desserts to choose from. We had the dolma and hummus to start, a ratatouille and a cous cous dish for main, and baklava, chocolate mousse, and Moroccan mint tea for dessert. The tagines were fresh and tasty, and we can’t recommend mousse highly enough! It was made from soy cream, and had chunks of nuts, chocolate, and raisins in it. I’ll be dreaming about it tonight.
If you’re looking for vegan eats in Nice (that don’t break the bank), don’t miss this place! We would go back in a heartbeat, and wish we’d stayed longer so we could.

I went here for lunch and had a very enjoyable meal. The other reviews are correct, eating an appetizer and an entree here (the vegan menu w these two items is 13€) is very filling. The gentleman that served me (may have been the owner) was very kind and sweet. This is a good spot to leisurely eat a tasty meal. They have menus in both French and English.

My friend ended up finding this, and we loved it. The smell of the place was great. I made my order and when it came time for dessert, the waiter remembered, asked if I was vegan and made specific vegan recommendations. This is vegan friendly well done.

Big restaurant, for France. We really enjoyed our meal here. The owner(?)/server was very nice. Plentiful vegan options; even 5 desserts to choose from. The cous cous was the most flavorful I’ve ever had. Would also recommend the onion soup.

We went there for dinner and tried the vegan dolmas, hummus, ratatouille with potatoes and couscous with vegetables and chickpeas. Everything was served on nice plates and in ceramic bowls and tasted very good. My favorite dish were the dolmas. Just thinking about them makes my mouth water.
