Delicious food and plenty of it

We had the Vegan Mix It which turned out to be a huge plateful of vegan options; it was all really tasty though I couldn’t finish it all! We don’t usually eat in places that serve meat but were reassured by the clear labelling of vegan options both online and in the cafe.

Pros: Clear labelling, Tasty food, good value , Staff spoke English

Best falafel ever

There is no competition for AKL’s falafel. Simply the best! Tip: if there’s a line, walk through and go sit at a table. They will come and take your order.

Pros: Cheap, Delicious falafel

Cons: Gets really busy!

A classic local choice

Every since I moved to Aachen 10 years ago, AKL has been one of THE places for everyone. No matter if you just want to grab a wrap and move on or sit down at the AKL or the Egmont next door to have a bigger meal, it's a great option with many vegan options and fair prices.

Pros: Super tasty vegan options, Authentic food, Friendly staff

Cons: Usually crowded, Not a lot of seating options

Yummy, affordable food

AKL may be THE place to go if you feel a little peckish and do not want to spend half of your days earnings on a meal.
They have a great variety of vegan and vegetarian options, all clearly labeled on the menu.
Although it may take a while to place and finally get your order, it's absolutely worth waiting for.

If you want to sit down, there are a few (almost everytime occupied) tables in- and outside, but you can also take a seat in the bar Egmont right next to it. Just place your order and you get your food served at the table.

Pros: Yummy food, Affordable, Super friendly staff

Cons: Hard to get a table, Often long waiting line

Good food

There are a few options for vegans. The food isn't outstanding but good, staff is nice and when you order your food to the bar next door you also get a nice atmosphere.

Cheap and tasty

Tasty „fast food“ which was made freshly. Absolutely recommend to go there, it is very cheap but amazing quality.

too busy/ overhypted

The card has clearly labeld which dishes are vegan and vegetarian. For the takeaway there is always a long line though. Same goes for when you want to sit down there; I had to wait quite long for my food and when I got it, it was already cold. If your looking for Arabic style food there are definitely better places in terms of taste and service.

Best falafel so far!

AKL is a small Lebanese restaurant in the heart of the city with just a few seating opportunities. It is crowded and noisy throughout the day - consider to make a reservation in advance via telephone. If all tables are occupied it is possible to order your food at the counter and take a seat at the "Eggmont" next to the AKL., your food will be brought to you then.

Vegan meals are clearly identified with the green vegan sunflower symbol, some vegetarian meals can be veganised by replacing the yoghurt sauce with their delicious hummus paste. In this case be sure to check if the yoghurt sauce was replaced properly with hummus paste, some waiters are forgetful. ;-)
Definitely try out their falafel, it's the best I have eaten so far. It is homemade daily based on their own recipe. Don't expect to have a relaxing candle light dinner due to the noisy atmosphere.

Pros: Great falafel and hummus, Fast service, Cheap

Cons: Noisy and smelling of fat from their barbecue

Solid effort

Nice place. Vegan and vegetarian selections are very well indicated. The food is solid, though it's basic Lebanese fare. Babaganoush was good. Falafel was good. Prices were fair. Nothing stood out as unusually good or unusually poor, but it was a solid option for Aachen.

Good food, nice service, nice prices!

Very nice place to have some libanese tapas, they even take care of allergies and replace ingridients that dont fit!

If you want to have a cocktail along with your food you can go to the café "Egmont" next to AKL and order your food to that place! Nice atmosphere and good drinks there!

Pros: Various vegan choices, nicely arranged, nice price

Cons: take-away-atmosphere
